This was the first episode I've seen this season. Have they all been bad? Last night was terrible - it seemed as if they were parodying themselves...

It was pretty much a waste of an episode. I don't think there was anything funny that happened and Phil acting super over the top about the eggs was flat out annoying.

The start to this season has been rough.

I thought episode 1 was good. 2 and 3 were weak.

Show has run it's course. Cute kids have turned into irritating young adults. (Manny isn't going to get a cute chick's number, he's a fat elitist and nobody plays that shite in High School) Writers haven't left any room for growth or development IMO.They should have written in a 3rd child for Jay from the beginning. The wandering stoner son that could cycle through crazy love interests and throw in a crime or two here and there. Kind of like Larry in Parenthood.

I agree, the worst thing that happened to the show were Luke and Manny growing up. It seemed like the acting starting getting way over the top instead of just being "natural". I still like the show, but the earlier seasons are way better.

Stopped watching mid last season I think. The show was repetitive and already a parody of itself.

I've enjoyed this season so far, but it's definitely not as good as it used to be. And I agree that it mostly has to do with the kids (who were the worst parts of the show) growing up (and becoming more annoying).

I don't mind Hailey and Alex, but Luke and Manny are borderline insufferable. And Lilly has always been the single worst part of the cast. I'm honestly amazed they haven't recast her character yet...she's that bad.

Ep 1 was good. Ep 2 was bad and Ep 3 was okay. The ongoing drama about Hailey likeing the x-nanny boy is just ridiculous and ran its course a long, long time ago. They even brought back Dillon which was lame. Although those v-cutts tees were worth a couple of jokes.

Yeah, I fricking hate that dude.

I didn't mind the Hailey/Adam Devine angle, but holy shite get somewhere with it already.

And also: I haven't watched last night's episode yet. So I can't speak to its quality.

It's definitely not as good as it was the first few seasons. The kids growing up is a huge problem. Manny is a fricking loser and I kind of want Lilly to die a violent death.

Agreed. dude is annoying. Only thing I have liked about him was his songs he wrote. Two favorites: I wanna do you and the one that ends in tiny pink panther.
Also 100% have to agree with about Luke, Manny, and Lily. Best thing Lily had were the cute one liners (i.e. Today ladies). Also, her interaction with Sal (Elizabeth Banks) were pretty good imo. Growing up has killed the Manny and Luke characters.

I still like it. Phil and Jay have always been my favorite characters with Mitchell close behind. The show has gotten a little Scrubs-ish. As in, each character's quirks and idiosyncrasies have come to dominate their personas.

I'm into it though. Lily and Luke have always been shitty actors so I guess I'm just used to it.

Loved Mitchell getting on the virtual couch with Luke. As well as Jay being awesome.

I always thought that the end of the "I Want To Do You" episode was funny. After their initial shock at hearing the lyrics, the episode closed with several cast members, including Jay, humming or singing the song to themselves.

I still like it too but I haven't watched last night's episode yet. There were still some great episodes last season, like when they all went to that hotel and all those mishaps happened and Jay kept thinking he was on the top floor only to keep finding out there was another floor above that.

Same here. I still like it. Phil and Jay are most definitely my favorite characters as well. Mitch would be third and Claire and Cam tied for fourth.

The end of that episode with everyone humming and singing the song is most certainly what made it so great .

Manny and Lilly need to be sent to a Swiss boarding school.
They are both irritating.

See, I think Mitchell is awful. But I like how Cam plays off of him.

I do wish they'd go back to when Cam was flamboyant, but still pretty manly. Feels like they haven't done that in a while.

And the kid who plays Luke seems like he can barely sound out words sometimes. I know the actual actor is like MENSA smart, but he's a terrible actor. I used to get shite on in MF threads when I talked about bad Luke was.

And as much as I hate Manny, he's actually not as bad as he used to be IMO. At least now he's growing into his personality a little bit, and has come off of the elitist bullshite that used to be so cute (not cute) when he was a little kid. And I do like that Manny and Luke can team up on some things...I just think they both suck, so I'm not ever really invested in what they're doing. I will say that them chasing pussy isn't bad though, because that's what they're supposed to be doing. And Alex in college now gives them an avenue for older chicks like last week's episode.

I like Mitch's sarcasm. And do agree he is best when paired with Cam in a scene. They do play extremely well of one another.

Couldn't agree more. Granted I did like how they portrayed him last night. As a bro's bro just trying to fit in with every crowd who moves in upstairs. Scene with the black family cracked me up.

Luke

I think he has always been a bad actor but was more tolerable as a child.

Most definitely. Wife and I both said last night they need to do something with Lily. Her interaction with Phil was ok but Phil carried the load in their scenes.

You haven't watched it yet but last night's episode nails this with Cam renting their upstairs to a frat.

Good to hear.

I just remember when Cam would brag on playing CFB, or be dressed up as Fizbo and threaten to whip some dude's arse at the gas station. I always thought it was cool/funny how he was so girly sometimes, but could man up when need be. And he always needs to be because Mitchell is such a dramatic pussy.
