Ajinca out 4-6 weeks

Per Pels press release, he's out 4-6 weeks with a strained hamstring.
Does this mean more Perkins? Makes Adrien a lock for the roster? Do we go out and get someone for the short term?

And so it begins!
I didn't know it was possible for Ajinca to just strain his hamstring. Seems like it would simply snap on the slightest tweak.

Probably means more minutes for Ryno.

I'd rather these guys be healthy in April than October, but man I hope this injury luck doesn't carry into the season... As of now we're starting the season without Q-Pon and Ajinca, and Jrue is on a 15-20 minute restriction.
I just hope Tyreke's knee isn't that serious. Lucky for us, the guy has super-human healing powersr.

4-6 weeks seems like a very long time for a hamstring strain.

he has to grow hamstrings first then heal them.

Hammies are very finicky. They can be easily aggravated if they aren't allowed to fully heal.

They are also hard to play through.
I've seen players deal with that injury for a big chunk of the season by coming back too soon and trying to play through it and you can see the decline in their level of play.

More anderson and more perkins obviously

I would think Ajinca down means more minutes for Asik. Why do you think it's Anderson?

AD will play more center for the time being, opening things up for Ryno.

Well technically I'm thinking it means more minutes at center for AD, but if AD's playing center then I'm thinking Anderson gets the other big minutes. I guess they could play Asik more minutes, but I assume if Ajinca's coming in it's either because Asik needs rest or you want more offense.

Because that would mean AD would get more minutes at Center, is what I think his thinking is. I don't think using Perk a lot is an option.

Sure. IMO Davis at the 5 was happening 10-15 every night regardless of Ajinca's health. Its just too potent an option. I was thinking Ajinca/Asik for ~35 MPG a night.
And I'm not so sure Davis will or should see more than 34/35 MPG.

I think we will be surprised by AD's minutes being less than what we are used to seeing. I think it was obvious to everyone (including gentry) that the pels were riding Davis hard and putting him up wet in the GS series and that that is not the ideal way to sustainably win in this league
It may not work but I really think 32-35 minutes is going to be what we see

well to be fair, he averaged about 36 MPG last season and 35 the season before. he was at 43 in the playoffs, which may seem like too much, and it may have been for a first year in the playoffs, but it's not completely uncommon to see a star player average that many (LeBron was at 42 in the 20 playoff games last season)
