Can you charge them with assault?

I don't see why not. You can't even argue that's part of the game.

They claimed he was calling them Ni88**. Isn't that always the case?

Damn. Hopefully they're never allowed to play again.

Yeah, they should be kicked off the team permanently. No investigation needed. I don't care what he called him, and I doubt he called them the N word mentioned above.

Title should read players. And I agree I'd prosecute them.

I would guess the investigation would center around whether someone on the staff told them to do it.

My brother-in-law is the head coach of the home team, Marble Falls. He says the ref is pressing criminal charges.

Thugs should never see a football field again.

Charge the players criminally and investigate the refs actions. If he was truly being awful and/or racist then he loses out on being a ref. Still no excuse to attack him like that.

Should we call Jared Allen in to take care of this?

This.

I think it goes without saying those players should be done from playing sports and should receive some sort of disciplinary action from their school. But, if there is any reason to believe this order came from the sideline, then there may need to be some additional discipline to the staff.

I wouldn't necessarily end the program because I don't think the entire team should be punished for the actions/instructions of a few.

Disgusting. Players should be kicked out and if the coaches are found guilty they should be banned as well.
