Indianapolis has advanced another level in each of the last three years.
2012- Wild card (lost to Baltimore in first round)
2013- Divisional (beat KC, lost at NE in divisional round)
2014- Conference championship (beat Cincinnati, won at Denver, lost at NE)
Unless they completely implode, I can't see them getting rid of Pagano.

At LSU, Saban spotted a high-school player named Jacob Hester, an undersized, two-star prospect. Saban turned Hester into a contributor at the college leve
Saban really went out on a limb taking a chance on that bum Jacob Hester and giving him an offer
I mean the only other schools to give Hester an offer were:
Texas
Miami, Fl
Oklahoma
Oregon
Texas Tech

That's Andrew Luck.
He handcuffed Luck for 2 seasons and for a guy with a defensive background his defense has been Swiss cheese against the run.

This thread is going as per usual: actual discussion with bama fans being bama fans.

I mean what are we supposed to say. This crap rumor comes out every damn season.

Maybe they are just rumors, but it's the attitude that "why would anyone ever leave Alabama" that makes it somewhat amusing. Maybe I'm not seeing it, but you never get one fan to ever entertain the possibility

After years of Saban back to the NFL rumors. I'll believe it when I see it. He could be on the way out at Bama due to frustration, but the destination will be retirement and not the NFL.

Dude is 70 why do people think he is leaving

The vast majority of the people in this thread aren't even entertaining the possibility, and they aren't Bama fans.

It wouldn't shock me if the right opportunity like the Colts came up. The fact that he was an NFL failure will always eat at him. It would be his only regret in life. Also, the college game is moving in a direction he fundamentally hates, and threatens to harm his reputation as a defensive mastermind. If he has another season of sub-par defense, he may just leave for one last challenge in an environment that fits his style better. An elite, young offense with defensive issues would be the perfect fit for him. 4 national titles at two schools plus a super bowl might put him in the best coach of all time argument.

Meh, I doubt he even really thinks too much about it.

quote:I've always disagreed with this statement... He wasn't Steve Spurrier out there, he was an ok NFL coach. He finished 15-17 but by the way this board talks you would swear he went 2-13 each and every year. He improved the Dolphins a bit and his biggest mistake was Dante Culpepper.

No doubt. I think he is still the Dolphins coach today if he had picked Brees. I honestly believe he likes the NFL game more than college, especially with the rules and style of play in college favoring offenses so much more these days. He loves all the first round picks he gets every year in college, but prefers the chess match that the NFL game still has. If he is envious of any man in America it is his buddy Bill.

lol...
Saban's not going anywhere at this point, but he's especially not going back to the NFL.

Saban should stick to what he does best and that is being a college coach.
He is an A+ recruiter so as long as he's at Bama they are going to be a top 5-10 team. I guess his ego may want NFL success, but some guys just resonate better with college age kids and their message gets accross better. I always thought Rex Ryan would be a great college coach for this reason. Rex's message gets stale after awhile, but in college this isn't an issue because kids aren't there very long.
If he goes to the NFL, he'll likely be a decent but not great coach, but if he stays at Bama he has a chance to be top 5 college coach of all time, maybe even the best.
Pete Carroll has success in the NFL because he's a players coach, Saban not so much.

Yeah, I really see Nicky working for a owner that loves hi-balls and taking pills.
