From Holly Anderson at Grantland. Pretty good read

Tulane would eventually play 11 football games in 11 different stadiums in 11 back-to-back weeks in 2005, and though it wasn’t like they were the Saints, their strange situation didn’t go unnoticed. But after an initial flurry of media attention, the fervor died down, the coverage abated, and the Green Wave settled into their new nomadic state of normal.

Ricard and Forte each shook off multiple transfer offers, including come-hithers by at least two schools in the SEC, to remain with the team.

"Fourth and New Orleans" did a good job telling the story of the 2005 season. You have to wonder what kind of season that would have been if we'd been able to stay on campus. Some of those fourth quarter losses might have been wins with proper conditioning and training table access.

you obviously have no idea what you're talking about

Yea, Johnny it's the disappointing season they're upset about.

Good point. It's not like any of the LSU players were from south Louisiana or had relatives who were affected. And LSU wasn't used as an evacuation and triage center or National Guard staging center or anything like that. If you were in Baton Rouge you'd never know anything happened.

Why are we looking back at Tulane? Did they get decent at anything yet?
Posted on 8/25/15 at 9:12 pm to D011ahbi11
quote:It's all relative. Threeputt was being judgmental about Les Miles. Sure he didn't have it as bad as Tulane, but a whole lot of people had it a lot worse. Exactly how much does one have to be inconvenienced in order to complain? Did you lose your home? Did Threeputt? Is my suffering less important than yours?
Yea, Johnny it's the disappointing season they're upset about.

surprised Scelfo didn't grant an interview (i assume that's what happened, since he isn't quoted).

Fats Domino slept in Jamarcus Russell's apartment. That's normal. A lot of players from the team were from the New Orleans area.
ETA: You're an idiot.

Whether you went to LSU, Tulane, or UNO, you were affected in some way or form. Everyone in southeast Louisiana was harmed by this storm. I was there, I lived it, along with a bunch of others and it was the worst experience of my life.

We had Katrina evacuees come as far north as here in Louisville so I can only imagine what cities around New Orleans and the Louisiana coast dealt with. You know, like fricking Baton Rouge.

It was a very good article. Got chills reading it.

you post on this board a lot so i say this with great sadness. This is the dumbest fricking thing you have ever said on this site

Yeah, opening up your home and city to people in need is the exact same thing that the student athletes at uno and tulane had to deal with and are STILL dealing with ...
