Not because I don't want to, but not sure I can. Anyone who has one can attest this is the heaviest TV ever created. I swear it must be 150+lbs.
I hated that TV and moved it twice. I finally threw it out this year. One of the heaviest damn TV's I have ever handled. I thought about chucking it over a cliff I hated it so much, but just took that bitch to the dump.

Have had that sony 36" for 10 years, it won't die. Every day I go to turn it on and hope that expired. 235 is the weight, but thats not the issue. It is rounded on the backside, which makes it hard to grip. Does anyone know if Goodwill will pick one up? Probably too big of a liability

My dad has the same one. I helped him move it in years ago. It's astounding how much that stupid thing weighed.

I had the 32" version... basically the ladies tee of the same situation for me. I got stuck moving by myself and carried it down a set of stairs and onto a flatbed. Years later when I went to replace it I couldn't budge it without help. Not sure... May have been on drugs the first time because I have NO idea how I did it in retrospect.

In the 80's I had a 27" Zenith that had been my parents'. Took the 'guts' out like they did here and used it for a TV stand for a 32" Sony. Had the Super Nintendo box & controllers plus a bunch of VHS tapes in there.

My 32" was just like that. The picture in picture was so awesome back then. I lived in a 2nd floor apartment when I bought it. Roommate & I got it to the elevator in the lobby OK, but had to get help to open a door to get it down the hallway. When I moved out of there I wondered how the movers where going to handle it and my old hide-a-bed couch. They ended up lowering both down from my balcony with ropes, the way you see people in movies doing pianos. Life in the big city!

Set my new TV on top of it like all the other classy people do.

Set it on fire and wait for the tube to explode. Fun times.

I brought my old trinitron to the camp and you are right, that sucker is a beast. Getting something that heavy and bulky out of a boat is tricky!

You can build a badass cooker from the lenticular lens in a crapped out rear screen TV. Put it in a frame and let the sun do its thing. I don't know how hot it gets but it will start a fire in a few seconds.

'd bet it's more than that (actually I just looked it up, and it's 220 ). I had a very similar 36" Sony and that thing weighed ton.
My business partner had one in the back of his truck - we took it to the dump last week. Those damn things are surprisingly heavy.
