For me, it's Geno Smith. Why? I have no idea and it has nothing to do with his jaw being broken.

I guess I felt bad for him in college when it it seemed he was called stupid and I felt that was a bit harsh given his background. I have zero connection to Miami, WVU or the Jets.

That said, he's completely unlikable, seeming petulant, not a great worker, a bad teammate, very selfish, and not very good.

I have no idea why but I find myself rooting for him.

Always.

The more coverage/love an athlete gets, I usually start to hate them.

The more people beat up on a guy, the more I usually like them.

I have pulled for Michael Vick for most of his football career. Even liked watching him play as a Falcon.

i feel like if im cheering for someone, they'd have to have enough redeeming qualities that i wouldnt consider them unlikable. but maybe thats a different argument

I have liked Richard Sherman ever since he went off on Crabtree in that interview with Erin Andrews.

Yeah, but guys like Sherman, Vick, Chipper Jones, Newton are all really good.

Is that the same thing? Maybe. IDK.
