No, not NC or bust dude. Let's just compete for one every now and then. Hell we dont even compete for SEC champ anymore.

Yes I do, but I doubt that JUCO players will supply consistent good QBs. If you think miles deserves credit for that, so be it. Credit given. Try to calm down in the meantime. Try some controlled breathing exercises. This is college football, not life or death.

I, for one, am looking forward to what happens at QB as much as anything. I hope whoever plays does very well, but at the end of the day, they are CLMs responsibility, good, bad, or ugly.

Well, we literally played for one in 2011.

I'd take the time to show how close we've been several other seasons under Miles had a game gone another way, but honestly...wouldn't you simply move the goalpost and then get into an argument about what constitutes competing for one?

I think I'll pass...

Yeah and the FACTS are...Les Miles sucks a$$ at getting QB's! Which is what this topic was started on.

So finishing in the top 15 8 out of 10 seasons isn't as important as having a good qb? We have had good qb play in 06,07,2009,2011n and 2013. That's 5 of 10 years.

I wouldn't bring this up if you're trying to defend/support Miles.

That was a strange, clownish thing to say about a young man.

Why are we talking about what the hell happened in 2007.

I say if Miles starts Jennings in the first game he will be responsible for the morale of the team if we rapidly go down hill. Like the President of this Socialist Union the team bus stops on top of Miles and no one else.

If you read the thread you'll know. Try to keep up.

He is responsible for team morale every second he is the head coach at LSU. It's also why his players love him. One thing you can't say about Miles is that his players don't love and respect him.

OK but that doesn't change the fact that he was not a terrible qb. He was a good qb.you can't be a terrible qb and make a nfl roster as a qb and that's what the discussion was about.

I've only read the opening post in this thread, but if LSU has another shite show year at QB and loses some games because of it, Les will catch holy hell. Les' job will be safe, but it won't be fun for him.

How is stating facts a sign that I'm upset? Maybe you need to take a break from message boards. Just because I hit the caps button for 3 words doesn't mean I'm excited. It means I wanted to emphasize 3 words. That's it.

Yes, 2014 was disappointing, but this idea that our QB always sucks or is poor is just silly. I had hoped for better in 2014, but due to the massive skill loss we suffered I can understand the problem and see no reason to break out my cliff jumping gear just yet.

You have to realize that there are footbal ignorant posters on this site that see other football ignorant posters say things over and over and after a while they try to pass it off as fact. I can name a few BS myths and even some that have died.
1. Remember the BS myth about Miles not playing younger ,more talented players?
2. It's easy to win 10 games every year. No its not. 99% of all cfb programs can't win 9 games a year during a 4 year stretch.
3. Our qb play always sucks.
no it hasnt. We had good qb play in 2006,07,09,2011,&2013.
4. There was team mutiny for the BCSCG on 1/9 because Miles wouldn't start JLee.
No there wasn't and TBOB has publicly said nothing happened on several radio shows.
5. Miles runs a simple and arcaic offense.
No he doesn't. We run a modern prostyle offense and the pro style offense is ,by far, the most complex offense in all of football.
6. Miles refuses to throw the football and runs nothing but 3 yards and a cloud of dust.
Actually when Miles trusts his qb, he throws the ball a lot. JRUSS in 2006,Flynn in 2007,JLee/JJ in 2011, and Mett in 2013 all finished top 5 in passing attempts.

Lonnie you know this already. A bunch of dumbasses repeating a bunch of dumbass statements.
Is Miles the best coach in football? No but he has given me the best 10 year stretch of lsu football ever.
Is our qb play always good? No but it's also not ALWAYS BAD.

Realistically, Les hates making changes from his initial QB picks. It's been shown historically, and he is quite fickle when it comes to being shown to be wrong. He's normal in that regards, as no one likes to proven to have been wrong.

He inherited JR and Flynn for his first 3 years. Those were givens with Jimbo as OC and then Flynn as a 5th year SR.

When his first real task of picking a QB came to fruition he was stuck with the dismissal of Perilloux. He chose Hatch despite his limitations and Lee only took over as starter once Hatch got knocked out against Auburn. Then he didn't put in JJ until Lee was knocked out against Ole Miss no matter Lee's struggles.

Then he only removed JJ when either he was injured (BAMA 09) or things were completely dire (half the 2010 season) only to put JJ back in.

Look back to last year, despite AJ's struggles much of the start of the season and his performance against MSU, Les put him back in until the NMSU game was atrocious for AJ and Harris was unbelievable. He then gave Harris one shot and the second things went South, he turned back to AJ and never looked back just like with JJ years before.

It is what it is with Les. He hates change, period. Once he feels he's made a decision he will not change it (see Lee and JJ in 2011). JJ was going back to being starter no matter what, even if Lee survived the Bama game. That's what Les wanted. That is the issue. Les won't make adjustments until he has no option (injury usually), so expect AJ to start or Harris to be on a very short leash at best like Lee in 2011.
