I'm heading over there tomorrow afternoon and fishing Saturday and Sunday. This will be my first time fishing here but I've heard the fishing has been pretty good recently. I plan on putting my kayak in at Sweetwater. Any suggestions?

We smoked the reds 2 weekends ago, but struggled last weekend. Water was really dirty everywhere we went.

eta: no trout which is really what I was looking for

Polar Pop is the Delacroix expert. Wait for him to chime in and he will put you on them.

Went last weekend, water bad low and windy. Caught crab trap on the lower unit twice.

I'm ready for a change of scenery and less grass, possibly bringing the yaks to Cocodrie tomorrow morning.

Check out Sweetwater's Facebook page. They said the trout are showing up on the interior of the marsh. We killed the Reds and blacks two weeks ago.

2 weeks ago we killed the Reds. Couldn't catch em on tolwater but played catch and release until it got too hot. Also couldn't get them to bite when sight fishing. They'd swim behind it and turn away right when they should've bit. Tried several baits and couldn't get em. I'll get em next time
