LOVE brunch on Sundays. We go to early Mass so we do not eat breakfast before. End up eating around 10:00. I then skip lunch and eat a great dinner after some rewarding yard work.

Me too
The brunch item I get at Chimes is $11.99 and it has fried oysters, croissants, poached eggs, bacon, hollandaise, and a side of hash browns. Simple ingredients, but I don't see where it's a bad price.
Now I am sure brunch at somewhere like Galatoire's is more expensive for the same kind of food.

For sure I know some people love that kind of food. Just the value and taste is not there for me. Plus I'd need a nap after.

I'm definitely one of those people. Rich, buttery carb-loaded food. Drool.
Is that Atchafalaya's menu you posted? I love their duck hash.

Opinions on brunch?
I'm a fan.

I can't sleep during the day. Gives me a headache. Would rather just keep drinking but a stomach full of brunch hinders that effort.

Unless you are AlxTiger in which case it is "rewarding yard work."

Bourdain sums it up nicely:
Brunch menus are an open invitation to the cost-conscious chef, a dumping ground for the odd bits left over from Friday and Saturday nights. How about hollandaise sauce? Not for me. Bacteria love hollandaise. And nobody I know has ever made hollandaise to order. And how long has that Canadian bacon been festering in the walk-in? Remember, brunch is only served once a week - on the weekends. Cooks hate brunch. Brunch is punishment block for the B-Team cooks, or where the farm team of recent dishwashers learn their chops.

No bottomless glass of champagne, no care for brunch...

You mean you are turned off by an additional time of day when you can eat bacon and eggs?
Posted on 7/24/15 at 4:50 pm to Tigertown in ATL
I love brunch food as long as it not too early. I don't like getting up early on weekends.

I love leeks and shallots and gruyere and things in crusts. I like cured meats and fruit and coffee and screwdrivers...I like brunch I guess.
