Because its MPD and nobody wants to work for them, and they have had something like 200 officers arrested in the last decade.

I am more waiting to see how things turn as the news spread that is was one of those sorry white pigs who had a record for beatin down people, and getting crunk and drivin and gettin away with it.
They are also wanting explanations, and the TBI isn't going to give them crap. They will investigate as long as they need to and then if no charges are filed the investigation will remain sealed.

I've done some consulting in that area in the past.
Some of the guys from the firm I was working with referred to it as "Memfrica."
That was my only real takeaway from there.

Dude took his handcuffs. Those are a deadly weapon if held open and used like a dull hook. The officer could have been gutted with them or had his throat ripped out in the struggle and if he lost consciousness, could have been shot with his own gun.

Stewart was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse. According to the complaint, Stewart, who was 13 at the time, was accused of committing “sex acts on two different subjects” who were under 12.
At the time the complaint was issued, Stewart was living in Coralville, Iowa, with his mother, identified in the complaint as Mary Stewart. Coralville, is a suburb of Iowa City.
Sgt. Scott Gaarde with Iowa City Police said in an email that the complaint is the only juvenile record that officials can release.
He added, “The Iowa City Police Department does not have a copy in its possession of the warrant itself.”
He referred further questions about Stewart’s arrest warrant to the Johnson County Iowa Clerk of Court’s Office or the Johnson County Iowa Juvenile Court Services.
Stewart also has active warrant issued Aug. 21, 2009 in Decatur, Illinois for juvenile delinquency from the Macon County Sheriff’s Department. The warrant was issued for failure to appear on the charge.
When contacted for more information about Stewart’s warrant both agencies said information regarding juveniles is confidential. Decatur and Iowa City are about four hours apart.
Stewart’s family has maintained in numerous television interviews that Stewart did not have any warrants and had never been arrested. They said Stewart was detained by the officer because of mistaken identity, insisting the warrants in Iowa and Illinois were for another Darrius Stewart.
