"I don't care what anyone says and I get criticized for being tough on Les," says McFarland, "If his seat is not hot, it's warm. I don't know how people look at it, but eight wins isn't good enough anymore. When i got to LSU in '95, eight wins, we'd throw a party. Like literally, we'd throw a party."
But the times have obviously changed. National championships in 2003 and 2007, along with another championship appearance in 2011, have drastically altered what LSU fans expect from their program. After opening home against McNeese, the Tigers then most travel to Mississippi State, before hosting Auburn in Tiger Stadium.
"He's got to get to 10 wins," McFarland continues, "After the way he finished last year against Notre Dame and the way the team finished, and I'm not going to put it all on coach, but we all know it starts at the top. He's the CEO of this operation. So they have to be able to bounce back, from what they did in the bowl game. This is a very critical year. And it's important not only for the te

Booger speaks the truth.

Yeah no it isn't.

i think he gets another year unless he misses out on a bowl

He gets another year unless the wheels come off and we win 4 games this year. I think the DC search fiasco is very telling in regards to Les' future.

He's right and isn't the only person to say this.
Wouldn't say he's "on the hot seat" right now, but it's def getting warm. Another 8-5 season, 4-4 in the SEC, and Les' will most likely find himself on the hot seat.

If they only win 7 or 8 this year his seat will be officially be hot. Then 2016 is a put up or shut up year for Miles.

I don't think his seat is warm. If he doesn't solve the QB problems and keeps posting 8-4 seasons, he'll be "encouraged" to retire.

Just because he says it doesn't make it true. Les isn't going anywhere any time soon.

I got a little defensive when I saw the title, but honestly, I have to agree with booger on this one...
I don't think Les is anywhere near losing his job and barring a total collapse and loss of the team, I think he will be here at least another few years even if he goes 8-5 during those years...
to me, "warm" seat means that people are getting a little impatient, but there is no realistic threat of job loss...

Maybe Miles won't have to be "encouraged" to retire. It could be that he already plans to in the next few years. There has been some speculation about that even before Booger's recent remarks.

4 gimme wins on the schedule. If he misses a bowl game he could be gone.

His seat needs to be warm. Yes, CLM has many accolades, but the "oh shite" moments and disappointments have eclipsed his accomplishments . If he performs this season as he did last season, he needs to go or be given an altimatum. If he can get LSU to a bowl and win it, he deserves another year.

I actually don't think it's as warm as it should be

If that happens, then it should be hot. But be realistic, when has LSU not gone to a bowl game in the last 15 years?

Good real talk from Booger. Les has the talent to win 10 games. It needs to happen when you have the Adrian Peterson of college football.
