So in the press conference they just asked if the Warriors should go down as one of the all time greats. IMHO, I don't think this team is anywhere near that, but where would you rank them? Which of the following champions would you pick them over?

91-93 Bulls
94-94 Rockets
96-98 Bulls
2000-02 Lakers
1999,2014 Spurs
12-13 Heat

The heat vs warriors would have been fun. The other teams were better.

Very low considering everyone saying they beat a worthless team with the GOAT handicapped basically 5 on 1

In the 20 years I've watched the NBA I would rank the 96 Bulls and 2001 Lakers higher for sure....probably 3rd after that. Not going to bother including teams I never saw play

Just another NBA champion, not an all time great IMO. Our opinion of the 2014 Spurs is inflated by how great they were in the finals. The Warriors had a much better season all around though. It's tough to say.

No amount of stats could convince me that this Warriors team is a top 10 GOAT. My post history will have me fighting an uphill battle of whether I'm being salty or not but IMO they aren't even close.

i agree

just a meh year

the east sucks, and the Cavs lost 2 of their best 3 players for the finals.

West is sort transitioning between the old guard and the up and comers
plus durant being out in OKC weakens the conference.

As entertaining as LBJ made it, this wasn't a good finals.

I honestly don't see them beating any of the champions in the last 35 years. Every other champion either had much better perimeter players (Bad Boy Pistons, 90s Bulls with MJ, Heat with Wade and Lebron), great big men who would have destroyed them inside (Hakeem's Rockets, Duncan/Robinson Spurs teams) or both (Bird/McHale Celtics, Magic/Kareem Lakers, Kobe/Shaq Lakers, Kobe/Gasol Lakers, Wade/Shaq Heat, Big Three Celtics, Duncan/Ginobili/Parker Spurs, '04 Pistons).

So the NBA was invented in the 90s? To answer you question not in the top 10 and all of the teams you listed would beat them. They are a cute bunch of punks...great shooters....frontline is a bunch of vaginas.

2nd highest season ending Elo rating of all-time for whatever that's worth.

ETA: I think right now people are really underrating a team that won 83 games this year

Also, I think they avoided the 3 toughest teams for them, as well as facing a decimated Cavs and slightly injured Griz team.

The Spurs, Clippers, or a healthy Thunder probably would have presented a bigger challenge than any teams they did play. They would be slight favorites in each series, but they really got lucky with the draw.

People tend to overrate anything that happened 10+ years ago. In time people will appreciate just how great this team was.

In the past 20+ years only the '96 Bulls are without a doubt better than this team. I'd probably say '01 Lakers as well. I'd be willing to listen to an argument for the '08 Celtics and '14 Spurs but that's about it.

Lol.

This board is very what have you done for me lately.

This is an unreal team that had a below average finals performance and everyone is saying that they are one of the weakest championship teams in NBA history.

58-0 this season when leading by 15+ at ANY point in a game. That is INSANE. They NEVER allowed a team to comeback from 15 down all season. 15 is not a lot in the NBA (especially at the absurd pace that GS plays at).

2001 Lakers

2014 Spurs
2015 Warriors
2012 Heat

Top 5 teams of the century.

'01 Lakers don't make the cut because they were just an above average regular season team.

Just for reference, not to answer the question (since numbers alone don't tell the complete story)

Top teams by season winning %

Golden State is in the top 10, tied with 4 other teams for regular season wins in the 82 game season era.

I see you didn't put any celtics teams in the list. Good move because GS is not better than any of the titles the boys in green won.

It would be a lot higher if Lebron and the Island of Misfit Toys hadn't dragged them to six games and only been blown out in one.
