I watched it up until a few episodes after Carrel left. The awkwardness of Michael Scott is what drove the show to me, and once he left that aspect was gone and I lost interest.

Of course I thought it was all great until Michael left.

I get why people feel that way, but I loved the show and thought it was pretty great even at its worst.

Of course it went down a bit when Michael left, and it took a while to find its legs again, but the last season was really good TV. Unfortunately, at that point, most people had already bailed and shite all over it "because Michael left" when they weren't actually watching anymore. Even the Robert California season was pretty good for a while. But a show as good as The Office, its great seasons set the bar so high that it was impossible to stay up there. But even its down seasons were better than most of the shite on TV.

Those who bailed on the last 2.5 seasons of the show missed out on some great TV IMO.

No no no. Didn't mean that. Totally different. I think it was more expressed as Brooklyn 99 is one of the good ones going right now. Don't think anyone here saying its on office level

then when toby tries to be nice Michael pushes his food off the table

That's one of my favorite moments in the entire series.

So fantastic.

Michael's irrational hatred for all things Toby is one of my favorite parts of the show, and is really sort of underrated IMO.

- The divorce thing Pilot mentioned ("Not even a member of his own family")
- "Goodbye, Toby" song
- "Why are you the way that you are...??"
- Michael and Toby's therapy session(s)
- Toby's exit interview with Michael ("How...how dare you..?)
- Michael checking Toby into the boards at the ice skating rink
- TLM scene with Toby's exploding head
- All of these awesomenesses:

And of course...

"Michael, Toby is back working here again...see for yourself.."

"Oh, dare I....??"

I was just trying to find a clip of the exit interview, when she walks in and Michael tries to make the questions legitimate

I could only find him giving him the rock that said suck on that

Something else I never realized was the guy who played Luke in the first episode of season seven I think also played Quicksilver in Xmen Days of Future Past.
Luke was Micheals nephew.

I brought it up originally, and said its the only show on TV now that I find myself chucking the entire way through like I used to with The Office. I'd also argue its the only show on TV right now that has the potential to make itself that type of legendary sitcom.

Season 3 episode when Angela, Pam, and Michael are on the phone trying to figure who the convict is -

Micheal: I didn't hire an ex-convict. Unless they mean Toby. Convicted rapist.

Edit: Michael: I watch The L Word. I watch Queer as *bleep*
Toby: That's not the name of that show.

That whole episode is hilarious. Michael struggling to prove why the office is better than prison.
