Sorry, when did Tannehill become some shoe-in for a top 5 quarterback?

Carolina most likely fires Ron Rivera at the end of this year
Why would he get fired after this year? They have won the South the past two years.

Doubt it
Some kid still in high school today could be in the top 5 for all we know

Sure, but as we sit here in 2015, the Top 5 seems like it is going to be pretty shitty.

I think Cam doesn't possess the skills necessary to be a top 5 QB.
Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Ryan fricking Tannehill? It's like people go blind with rage and cannot see reason when it comes to Cam Newton. People just wait for any mistake he makes so they can say "SEE??!? I TOLD YOU I WAS RIGHT ABOUT HIM!!!!" while totally disregarding or diminishing his accomplishments. I understand this is an LSU site, but people really, really want to see him fail. The level of hate he receives is almost unprecedented.

No argument

I think they have a poor year this year. However I did forget they won the South 2 years in a row, so he would get fired after two more bad seasons, not one more

Most people don't like him very much, that's true. But I think most of the hate comes from him having freakish tools and not really doing much with them as far as winning in the NFL goes. On top of that, he thinks he's the greatest QB of all time apparently. When can he gtfo of Carolina? Because if y'all are right about how good he is, they're the worst franchise on planet earth.

When he can hit a WR consistently on a 10 yard out, I'll say he's a good QB. The dude just sails the ball on open WRs way too much to be considered elite. If you have a hole in your game, you better be elite in every single other facet. Brady's deep ball is average at best, but he has the quickest release and throws a frozen rope. Drew Brees isn't exactly a great decision maker, but he can throw an elite level deep/medium ball and is a good/great short game and elite release.

cam has about peaked. he's not a pure enough passer to be good when he's 30+

this is a joke, Cam maybe the most physically gifted QB in the league

now this could be his downfall, his physical skills diminish and his accuracy which is not near as bad as made out by most here doesn`t reach elite levels

Wasn't Brady a late round pick? Didn't Rodgers ride the bench behind Favre for a while? Hasn't Wilson been pretty impressive after being a 3rd rounder?
All these good to great QBs that no one really expected to turn out great. I bet at least 1 or 2 of the top 5 in 2020 were lesser known names before rising.

Why are you laughing about Ryan? I can't stand the Falcons, but Matt Ryan is an outstanding QB.
To answer the OP, false.
Luck
Rodgers
Wilson
Ryan
These are good guesses for top 4, no doubt with the first two and Rodgers already being the best currently.
Stafford and Flacco are both better than Cam currently and will still be playing in 5 years likely at a high level. I personally prefer Tannenhill over Newton. Newton started off with an outstanding rookie year but has made no true progression as a player. He's stayed relatively the same. Tannehill has improved each season and he had a very good year in 2014.
Dark horse: Derek Carr. I think he had a very solid rookie year with not much at all to work with. I like what Oakland is doing, and he and Cooper will be a very nice young pair.

not impossible but logic tells you there's less than a 50% chance of this. Luck and Rodgers will still be there and there are around 10 guys who might emerge as elite instead of Cam right now.
