My family's land may have some, so we plan to take them out then eat them

Not very good at all imo, but lots of people really enjoy it.

Depends on the size of the hos and the sex. Males over 100 lbs are worthless. Females each much better...

Catch em, confine em, feed em corn or bread for a month and it will taste like normal pork.

I've made lots of sausage out of big boars and they came out good every time.

I made about 80 lbs of fresh italian sausage for a guy about 2 weeks ago. Cut it with 50% pork picnic shoulder. Was pretty damn good.

if cleaned and cooked properly, it's the real deal

I prefer wild pork over most cuts of venison , backstrap and tenderloin are the exceptions

It ALL depends on what they've been eating.

Yep. We call em footballs. Smoke them whole and they are excellent. I don't really care for them much bigger than about 100lbs unless you make sausage.

Some of the best pork I have ever eaten came from a 5-8 pound smoked hind quarter.

Almost makes me wish I had them on my property, but they are terribly destructive. Worth nothing until you smoke them or convert them to sausage.

Mt neighbor gave me a backstrap. I overcooked it because trichinosis...it had excellent flavor but it was very chewy.

They are all good if you process it right. Bleed it as soon as it's down, skin it, cut it up, put in an ice chest, changing the ice and water every day for three days to get all the blood out, then enjoy. Much better than store bought pork.

the biggest issue with wild hogs is how they are killed. if the kill shot is effective you are going to get some good meat out of the pig. run them with dogs or have one run for 200yds after being shot they are going musk up the meat.
