No he didn't. That was all completely fabricated by the feds that stole all of the bitcoins that also got busted. The people that were listed as targets didn't even exist.

I think those charges were eventually dropped but I'm not sure, could be wrong.

Most shockingly, prosecutors alleged Ulbricht had hired assassins to murder six targets who threatened the existence of Silk Road. Ulbricht was denied bail on the basis of these accusations, but the murder charges were never filed. It remains unclear why the prosecution dropped the charges, although one reason may be the lack of evidence that these supposed murders ever even occurred.

He's indicted for murder for hire in Maryland and will be tried there next.

The post above mine refers to the charges in New York.

Three months ago, Ulbricht was convicted on seven felony charges that included drug trafficking, money laundering, computer hacking, and identity fraud.

Nowhere on that list is murder for hire because the accusation was not charged in the New York case. Instead, after Forrest’s case is over, a Maryland court case awaits Ulbricht where he will finally face due process for a murder-for-hire charge.

Registered an account on stackoverflow under his real name, starting asking questions that were relevant to Silk Road, changed his profile name to Frosty, which was the name of the encryption keys used by Silk Road.

Yea I think you're correct.

The other thing I never understood is that this guy is worth millions and is running an illegal drug market that he can run from anywhere in the world yet he chose to stay in the USA instead of going somewhere with no extradition agreement with the USA.

He kind of seems like a moron when you think abut it.

Lemme see if I got this straight. He set up an internet market for illegal drugs, weapons, and child porn. He did it for money. Lots of it.

But the bankers, bureaucrats & politicians that f'ed us all over are still at the helm.

I don't blame people for selling drugs or even weapons when they see the wealthy getting away with white collar crime on a daily basis.

Has a new “silk road” popped up? I wonder how long it will take for something to fill the void
