Planning a tour of the PNW next year and I'm curious if Boise is worth stopping at. There's some good white water rafting in the area that I may want to hit up.

Is it a good place to live? I wonder how the winters and summers there compare to the mid west?

I saw a guy watching some pretty sick porn on the public library computers in Boise.

It was fun. I snuck on to the blue turf. There were good brewpubs. The raptor center was cool. College town feel overall.

I worked there two weeks in March one year. Not bad at all. A river runs right through town with a running trail. College town with a few brewpubs and decent food. Went skiing that weekend at Bogus Basin which was less than an hour drive.
cool place overall.

I was dying for something not bland to eat, so I tried the jambalaya pasta with hope of some spice. The waitress nearly passed out when I asked for hot sauce after tasting it.

I had some friends who lived in Boise for years. I liked it a lot the time I went there. It reminded me of Denver, but smaller and cleaner. I heard the winters can get kind of gloomy, but there are a lot of outdoor activities there.

Work with a guy who spent 20 years in Boise. He worked all over the country including in Hawaii and he said Boise is by far his favorite.

I was up there a few years ago. It's a great place except it needs more black people. I didn't see any in Idaho the entire time I was there. It felt weird. Otherwise great place to get away.

Had a great time there. Got flown in by the CEO of Albertsons for a Hunting trip in McCall, Idaho. Lots of fun college party places around town.

I loved Boise. Was there June 2012 with my dad and brother on a guy's trip out west. The weather is perfect, and it's a big football town. Low crime. 96% Caucasian. Enjoy.

I enjoyed it there. We went white water rafting about 30 minutes outside of town and it was a blast. I think it was called Cascade rafting.

Nice little downtown area and places to explore too.

whatever you do, don't get drunk and try to pee on the blue field so that it goes back to the normal color of grass

It's a pretty good college town, the Mormon influence is noticable, very clean, everybody's employed, winters are cold but not miserable, summer has some hot weather but not smothering, beautiful area, the wind blows A LOT, food's bland, culture's bland, everybody likes it, nobody hates it, i never found anybody who loved it. It's a perfect example of pretty good. That was my personal impression, which is the same everywhere from the Arches up to the Canadian border.

Boise is really nice and a drive up to Sun Valley is sweet. Love that area. Clean air, blondes all over, low cost of living and some spectacular sceneries. If it wasn't so far from my family I would pick up and retire there.

A Friend of mine got his degree in Agriculture Economics and Business. Got a job with some Big Ag company in the PNW.

Does a lot of work in Eastern Washington and Idaho.

He said it's awesome and that the Waterfowl hunting is unbelievably awesome.

Side note: He claims Boise is great.
