The real cost is this means we will have more Jeremy Schaap stuff, and I personally cannot stand to hear him talk.

anything to get rid of PAWL and his absolutely AWFUL callers.

Finebaum is cracking the golden egg. This man has a seat in the Southeastern Conference with a lifetime broadcasting opportunity and he is going to shite it away.
1. Needs to stop sucking Saban off.
2. Learn about other SEC teams besides Bama and Auburn.
3. Promote the conference not just Alabama.
4. Get rid of the crazy callers.
Either become a journalist and earn your peer's respect:
Or: remain a Jerry springer dweeb who is laughed at and ridiculed.

Paul couldnt hold a legitimate fact based conversation about any sport. All he can do is discuss the dramatics of football and basketball games or certain plays that draw attention. For a sportstalk show "host" I bet he couldnt name 10 MLB, NBA players or professional golfers or Nascar drivers.

If I were going to get paid as much as Paul to do jackshit I'd probably opt for that over actually trying as well.

Broadcasting a radio call in show taped delayed is dumb anyway.

they even stopped airing it on the radio in Mobile. There is some kind of hope after all I guess.
believe it or not there are some people here who don't keep up with Alabama or Auburn football religiously.
for the ones that do, all you can do is laugh at them. But eventually you might end up feeling sorry for them because they are overweight and uneducated for the most part.

Its amazing how very few people realize this. He can only discuss the politics and issues of college football at a 20,000 foot level. If you call in ask him to break down film, he'd either change the subject or defer to a future guest. He made his name on stirring the pot and getting Bama & AU fans riled up.
It really sucks that he's the face of the SECN. Last week, I flipped to his show and it was a debate about who was better: Saban or Bryant? I know its May but who cares? That shite gets old fast to most normal people. His schtick of riding one meltdown after another is tiresome and when he turns the show over to the callers, you can give up any hope of hearing a productive discussion. Unfortunately, his audience eats that stuff up. Its a shame the SECN gives him so much facetime.
When he had his show in Birmingham, it was at least tolerable because he'd discuss local issues. Now its just a clownshow. I don't see how any fan who is not a redneck Alabama or Auburn fan would enjoy it.

I get physically uncomfortable listening to his show

The callers got so much more annoying once they figured out they are pseudo stars.

An older caller, not from Alabama, called in a few wks ago to complain about everything that has been noted here. But he especially knocked the Jerry Springer aspect of the show's callers. Finebaum acted like he cared, but when he flipped the conversation over to his 2 producers, they both smirked & said, openly laughing, that they thought the callers were funny. Finebaum then added " and so we will keep taking their calls".Point is, all ESPN cares about is ratings, and apparently, the J.Springer dynamic is bringing in good ratings. And his show is caller driven only to the extent the callers usually follow up on one of his rants, especially his bama rants. In comparing SEC coaches, Finebaum opened with "we all know Saban has retired that trophy, so we're talking about second place".

Huh? They easily get the bests guests on their show that offer actual insight. But listening to Matt giggle through weekly segments with Condon and Feinswog is great stuff.
I guess I didn't listen to them much this semester, so maybe they've gotten better.
I just thought their opinions were pretty basic, I guess. Not that it is a bad thing at all, and I'm not sure if that is even the right word. I guess now that they've gotten time to establish themselves they've improved their guests and whatnot.

Fairhope Tider you couldnt be more right.
Any caller that has a question about what should be common sports knowledge for a sports radio host he deflects with the quickness. Its always the exact same tone and line too. You can hear it in his voice, he has absolutely no idea. Occasionally he will answer later in the show when he has had time to look up the answer on his computer.

Replace with Bill King.

Isn't it the same show that is on TV anyway?
If you are out and not near a TV it is pretty safe to miss a day ot two - you can catch up.

Jaguar Journal >>>>> Finebaum Show
I can't believe they put that hillbilly trash show on down here. I have no idea how Finebaum gets recognition outside of the state of Alabama. I'm not kidding in saying that I'd rather listen to mother fricking Jaguar Corner.
This is a smart move by 104.9. They will not regret it. frick that horrible, hick arse show and ALL of its shitty callers.
