Should have been more specific, did he know inititally or come to find out?
As in, did he intentionally want to burn them but found out that he fricked up, or did he intentionally make it look like he burned them to intimidate winterfell?
I should go back but I'm being a lazy prick.

But Jaime can say if he and Bronn had not been there, the girl would be dead as they interfered with the assassination attempt.

So yeah.. I feel like her time is coming soon.
I really hope she doesn't just get killed all of a sudden. That would be too good for her. The worst thing that could happen to her is to get marginalized and deprived of her power. What a coont.

I was really hoping for a scene in the bathtub myself where the stable girl taught Sansa how to "please Ramsey".
But we're getting away from all that now..
So Serious.

He intentionally made it look like he burned them but knew all along it wasn't them. He came across a couple of farm boys while looking for them and used them instead and then sent the farmer some gold or something for his loss.

I'm pretty sure Westeros didn't have these lame arse rape laws that we have. She married him, she's his for the taking.

Nope, Cersei's got herself a nice little play going here to keep the Tyrells in check.
The Tyrell's aren't ones to cower really. Sure she has Pillowbiter and Wondertits in a dungeon ready to be killed at her whim. But from my understanding the Tyrell's have a solid army, Wondertits is adored in King's Landing, The Crown is up to their neck in debt to the Tyrell's and the Tyrell's provide most of the food stuff for the Crown. All of these combined give the Tyrell's a lot of power that Cercei is underestimating.
Sure she can behead Loras and Margeary, but that should only make matters worse for her.
I'm interested in Littlefinger's deal with Cercei. If Stannis marches on Winterfell, which was his plan, his army should win easily over the Bolton's. Sure his army may be weakened some, but does Littlefinger really think he'd be able to amass an army powerful enough to then re-take Winterfell against Stannis? I highly doubt this in practical terms.
I mean sure, GRRM and the writers can pretty much write anything they want - it doesn't have to make sense, but logically I think Cercei just made a fatal mistake.
Once the Tyrell's stop their supply of food and gold to the crown, you'll have internal uprising. Even a highly armed King needs gold and food. Stannis takes Winterfell, liberating the North and Sansa from the Bolton's, his power grows. Littlefinger would be a fool to attack Stannis - and Littlefinger is no fool. The Tyrell's ally themselves with Stannis.
That doesn't even include how Cercei is running out of other potential allies due to her poor decisions. She has a bounty on Tyrion who will probably end up with Daenerys, she sent Jamie to kidnap Myrcella. She's burning every bridge she has and the most powerful ally she had was the Tyrell's. Again, Bolton's/Frey should be no match for Stannis.
There was a reason Tywin put all this together. He made solid politically strategic moves to gain allies and power.

I hope you are 100% right. I want that bitch to fall so hard and I want it to be of her own doing

All this is true. Plus, let's not forget a very important factor--The Iron Bank has now backed Stannis. Tywin said the Lannister goldmines are tapped out. Those dudes in the Medici bank of Florence--errrr, sorry----Iron Bank of Braavos will definitely play a huge role now that they've "crowned" The One True King Stannis the Mannis.

Bank of Florence or the Rothschilds? They were accused of doing the same thing as well in history.

I do agree that Cersei is out of allies and now she is turning to LF who will gladly stab her in the back when the time is right.
I don't think LF has any intention of launching an attack against Stannis at Winterfell. I think he is just setting himself up in case somehow Stannis is defeated. The Boltons would be weakened and he could swoop in and crush them.
If Stannis defeats the Boltons he could turn on Cersei and clear the way for Stannis to take the iron throne.

Littlefinger basically gets permission to gather his army and use at his discretion. I don't know how powerful an army the Vale has or what else he can put together, but either way Littlefinger is about putting himself in no-lose situations.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he gathers the army and comes in to aide Stannis against Winterfell with the condition he becomes Warden of the North - or offers to take the Twins and Walder Frey while Stannis takes Winterfell under the same condition. Easily if successfuly, Littlefinger would control Winterfell, The Vale and the Twins. Sansa already previously betrothed to Joffrey, married to Tyrion and now Ramsay, is convinced to marry Littlefinger (technically her uncle now) to solidify the hold of the North (Tully's/Starks well regarded).

I think this is the plays. Little finger is just covering all of his bases, making sure he is taken care of no matter the outcome.

Varys once said Littlefinger is the most dangerous man in Westeros.

I am betting Little Finger out lasts everyone. He is very conniving. I am waiting for the Sparrows to make their move on him and try and take him into custody.
I am also waiting on the King to act like a King. His guard is just waiting for a wave of the finger from him to take care of business. What is it going to take?

Isn't Tommen like 9 years old?

quote:If he doesn't act now, he's just a puppet King for the Queen Mother. The best action he could take now would be ordering the release of the Tyrell's. He'd have to deal with the backlash from Cercei and the Sparrows, but that could be handled multiple ways.

The problem with that is it would empower the Tyrell's and weaken the Lannister's. But if he's to be a true King and remain one, he needs to step up. Cercei isn't popping out any more pseudo-royalty and the Lannister's are already weak IMO. While she decided to piss off everyone in attempt to circle the wagons, he needs to ally with his wife and her family to strengthen the grasp on the Crown and ward off challengers.
Both Stannis and Daenerys believe they are the rightful heirs to the crown. Either Tommen needs to make allies or he'll be popping cyanide capsules with his mama.

It's pretty silly to expect Tommen to handle this well. He's a kid who has no business being in charge of anything at this point. It makes perfect sense that he's terrified of causing violence. He's supposed to look weak.
