Anyone been lately? Is it still run by the same guy? If so, he needs to check on who's cooking. I'm pretty sure my brisket was boiled, cooked in an oven, crock pot. Absolutely no smoke flavor. Not even sliced. Came as a pile of scraps in juice. No seasoning what so ever. Ribs weren't any better. I know this post will invite all of the Nola>BR folks, but shite, this sucks. Too bad too. Place use to be decent.

Hmmm. I think I could deal with that.

I've never had a problem with their BBQ itself, but always found their sides lacking.

I can say the same thing about McClure's on Magazine. Lots of meh in the sides, but the meat is great.

I would be very suspicious of any BBQ joint that serves their brisket chopped, unless it's on a sandwich.

I went there only a month ago and it was nothing like that. I'll check with them after work and see what's happening. Last time I rode by there a few weeks ago, it was the same guy behind the window.

It's owned by Opie still, as far as I know. Next time I'm in town,I'll check it out.

I would fight someone for Snowflake and Silver Moon to return. I had it good when I was in BR.

Many people hyped Smokin Aces to me so I finally stopped and tried it. Talk about overrated. My go-to is the brisket at Firehouse BBQ in Watson.

The best brisket in BR is at Whole Foods.

I agree the Francis is very good. Have some of their sausage to cook this evening.

Jambo will post. He's good about fixing things if they aren't right.

And his is smoked but boiled brisket is very traditional up the eastern seaboard and New England and when done right is very good. Try Tujaques because that is how they do it and are known for it. With boiled roof vegetables.

Absolutely no excuse for this. I'm not posting this to defend what my crew did or didn't do, but simply to let you know that if you received less than 100%, I'm truly ashamed.
We temporarily had a manager in there "helping", and he's no longer there bc it was a bad fit.
I'm truly sorry you had this experience, and I will address this with each and every one of my crew. BBQ is freakin HARD. It's hard to keep all the meats constantly coming off the smoker fresh, have the sides nailed each and every time consistently, etc....
I love a good challenge, and will continue to give the shop and my crew 100% to make things like this not happen.

My manager at the shop can get you in touch with me, you're welcome to stop by and talk to me, or if I'm not there, i'll be there right away.

I'm proud of the food we serve, and we sell out almost daily. It's truly a shame we let you down, and I apolagize.

Now that's a business man. I'm guessing this resturant is in Baton Rouge? I'm from Monroe but I come to Baton Rouge fairly often. I will be eating there on one of my next trips.

Amazing how many restaurant owners/managers read the F&DB

So if anyone from Commanders is reading this, serve up some rice in your gumbo appetizer!
