Davis alone should pry a top tier coach like Ollie, Bennett or Tibs to The Pelicans. The Pelican situation is the best potential coaching spot in the NBA right now. With the Thunder you could be without Westbrook and Durant in two years. Atleast the Pelicans have Davis for atleast 4 more years.

That's why Monty has to go NOW! A better coach could win with this talent. I'm not saying they could get past GSW this year but they could get farther than a sweep. Probably could have gotten the 6 or 7 seed, avoiding this gauntlet. But we have Monty. It's time to move forward and cut the dead weight.

I dont think a lot of people on this board realize that AD really loves monty. Be careful what you wish for because if he gets fired, odds are that AD leaves when he can. And believe me, im not in love with monty either, but if we have to keep him because AD wants him here, then i think you do it.

Monty and AD have a great relationship. He wants him as his coach. What are you people not getting? If Davis was unhappy with Monty, he would be gone. Open yalls fricking eyes and ears. Davis has been saying for years how much he loves and respects Monty.

If keeping AD means keeping Monty Williams then fine, but I have a hard time believing that.
I would be cool with Monty Williams if his in game decisions truly improved over the season. He seemed to suffer from the same coaching problems in the playoffs as he did during the season. He may be fine in practice developing the guys, but there have been some big failures from a coachng standpoint on the court.

I know it's never happened but what if we either fire monty, get a new coach, then make sure Monty is hired as an assistant, or just simply move monty to assistant/player development guy and hire a coach without firing him? He's a good guy and def a players coach, players like him, but he's not the guy to get us there. I'm afraid him and AD are very close and if Monty leaves so does AD. If Monty stays, so does AD but we never do anything special. It's a lose lose situation.
