People are going to try to give this a bad review.
It's a fricking comic book, super hero movie for God's sake.

"If it's still stuck together, it's still one nacho."
A Jack Black quote never made so much sense.

Down to 85% now. One thing I'm seeing consistently is that it is much darker than the first film. I may enjoy this one more than the first one.

I don't think the reviews will really matter, I am very excited to see this.

Yeah, the darkness is getting me excited. I never expected this film to be as fun since Ultron is a much darker and more fricked up antagonist than Loki is.

This may have been straightened out before but looks like there is a mid credits scene.
Review confirms mid credits scene
I remember there was some talk of no end credits scene but there were some questioning whether this meant mid credit too.

This guy simply eviscerates the movie:

quote:
If you want a fairly accurate sense of the sensory assault that awaits you in Avengers: Age of Ultron just imagine somebody right in front of you attacking a block of concrete with a jackhammer for two hours.
Add to that the mind-numbing effects of yet another big-screen superhero narrative that adheres strictly to the dictates of 21st century post-content cinema by not containing one fresh idea and making virtually no sense.
quote:
The vast bulk of the film's action is predicated on scenes of massive destruction rather than tension.
Consequently, you spend an inordinate amount of time in Avengers 2 watching rubble fly about as things crumble, crash and explode in a rhapsody of repetition.
Worse still, there is no real tension invested in any of these scenes, no sense of genuine threat. Thousands of people might well be reyling on the Avengers to save them, but director Joss Whedon (Avengers 1, Buffy, etc) never wants you to feel that they'll ever come to any real harm. Even dogs are safe.
quote:
All the mayhem caused in the film by the renegade A.I. creation is Tony Stark's fault. Yet the film does absolutely nothing with it. There was surely an opportunity here to take on and explore some of the moral complexity that has made the Dark Knight series so distinctive and intellectually satisfying.
There's not a decent fight or even an argument over the issue. Hasn't Stark violated the Avengers code of loyalty and teamwork by doing this?
You'd have thought, at the very least, that the moralistic Thor would have thrown a few barbed accusations, and perhaps even his hammer, Stark's way. But there's nothing like that. There's not even a hint of regret. The film is dramatically dead. (This effectively renders Whedon's recent Shakespearean jaunt with Much Ado About Nothing as somewhat hollow. For, what was the point?)

James Spader, another living, breathing reason we need a special award for voice work and casting at the Oscars because he was just the perfect choice for everything that Ultron had to offer and performed it incredibly.
This amazes me.

I've read that this film is darker and has tons of destruction. I'll be interested to see if posters blast this film just as much as they did MOS.

Why do these comparisons never end?
Simply put, it doesn't really have to go further, these are different movies. Where MoS wanted to almost reject it's origins and provide some kind of deep hero examination, where failing to hit on these specific "realistic" ideas SHOULD have been important, Avengers was kind of celebrating the comic book. The "ra ra," simplicity of good vs. evil. It's about a rag tag group of conflicted heroes that band together to conquer the bad dude. It's about a fairly simple story presented in a grand, overtly celebratory way.
I would assume, even if this one is
quote:that Whedon is still staying close to the source, telling a fun story and not bogging it down with the weight of "darkness," deep meaning and "ultra-realism." In short, Whedon doesn't really have anything to prove except "I love comic books, I hope you do too" and we all know how often cities have been destroyed in comic books. Like every week. So if Whedon does make a destruction statement, great, let's hope it doesn't detract from telling the story, if he doesn't.... then it's nearly like any grand arc or story where something, somewhere is getting blown up and the final page is the victorious heroes standing around looking for the next bad guy to beat up. So although there's probably some stories about regret with Tony, and probably some stuff leading up to Civil War, it's all about the journey of the characters, not some overall "effect," that Whedon is gunning for. He's a character guy not a "big idea," guy.

Not looking like it will even come close to the first Avengers... dropping to 83%

That's what comics are about! Not that overly campy shite we've gotten before. The super heroes are supposed to have their own personal foibles to overcome as well as being stuck in a deep hole.

Can anyone confirm any of this? I get that people hate Iron Man 3, but are they not addressing it as apart of the Avengers story line?
I think the writer simply misundersands motivations. Stark develops Ultron so he can quit, but now has to fight again to destroy the thing he created. Cap is working as an Avenger because he want a to fix what Hydra and Shield did to the world. He is team lead because, well, who else is qualified?
It really is that simple more than likely. The writer just doesn't understand context clues.

I could care less what any movie reviewer says about any movie. It's cooler to shite on a movie and try to find the negatives in it than just sit back and enjoy it.
I highly doubt i will be disappointed with this movie. There's a grander story being told, this is just 1 of 20 chapters, and i've loved every Marvel movie, Agents of Shield, and Agent Carter so far so i have no reason to believe this movie won't be great as well.
I'm most curious as to how AoS is playing into this movie. It's clear to see they are setting up the Civil War in AoS. and Shield still thinks Fury is dead, who is obviously in this movie alive. There's only a handful of people that know he's alive.
Coulson doesn't appear to be in this movie, but Strucker is, and that's who Shield is looking for right now.
