Looking for a new quiet personal hangout?

Basically i'm looking for a new place to go generally after work to grab a beer and a burger.
Something kinda small and quiet where I can watch tv/read the newspaper and ponder in my own thoughts.
I usually go to BWW alot and sit at the bar for a hour or 2 just to catch up with all the sports and drink.
I was thinking about Bar Louie at the mall, but aiming for something smaller and locally owned. (mom and pop kind of place).
Nothing where its best to dress casual or dress shirt and tie.
any help?

Dempsey's in Prairieville? Jolie Pearl? The Cove? The IceHouse?
I mean, where do you live? That will have a lot to do with it.

I was at Quarters in Baton Rouge the Friday before last and it was quiet/not crowded.
And the bar area is away from the games area.

What about just your living room?

Maybe Chili's or Applebees bar is more your speed.

He could be really daring and go to BJ's Brewhouse.

Mason's Grill is the answer. The drinks are almost free. It's not loud & rowdy unless me and my posse are there. And they have new air assisted toilets in the bathrooms.

I assume you mean in that area of town since BWW and Bar Louie are near one another.
Olive or Twist is a good spot, but you run into the issue of how horrid traffic is right there from 4:00-6:00.
They are supposed to be making like a drinks-and-apps type of place connected to Bin 77, but that might lean on the nicer side. I think it will be casual dress and all, but I doubt it will be a sports bar type atmosphere.
This is difficult without knowing how far you're willing to drink and drive.

quote:Good suggestion for a quiet spot with decent burgers. There are many nooks and crannies in that building where you can get lost in, especially right after work. Heck, they even have couches to lounge in if you want. Make sure you get egg on your burger.

Depending on where you live I woud recommend the Court Street Cafe in Port Allen.
Fits all of your criteria: small, quite, has a TV, solid burger (but their catfish is better). It also has video poker if you need to scratch that itch.

I've had good times there. No hating over here.
I like those townhomes they built next to it, albeit a really random spot for them.
