Any owners of these two trucks here that could shed some insight on pros and cons of the trucks.

I'm trying to compare the 2 before making a decision. I have done plenty research just asking from people that have experience with these vehicles.

I own a Colorado Crew Cab Z71. Drives very smooth and quiet. Gas is good on highway. I've gotten 26 mpg even though it was advertised at 24. But my city mpg is worse than advertised (15 mpg compared to 17 mpg). I don't know much about the Frontier, but I drove the Tacoma and the Colorado blew it out of the water.

I'd go with the GMC Canyon. Colorado is a nice truck but I think the Canyon looks better.

I'm on my second Frontier. I put 200k+ on my last one and only had to change a water pump. This one is at 80k and I've only had to fix the TPM sensors. It's a V6 and has good power. The ride is rough and has mileage isn't great in the city (17 mpg). Also, it doesn't corner very well. But it's reliable and durable.

The new Colorado is very nice looking, but that is all I know about them.

Nissans have way too many mechanical issues.

People will say "mine didn't" to them, they are the lucky ones.

Tacoma vs Colorado should be what you are looking at.

While Tacoma will maintain it's value more. The Colorado right now is the better truck .

Frontier is best bang for your buck, IMO

I have an Xterra, which is essentially a Frontier wearing a backpack. Mechanically identical. Almost 51,000 pretty hard miles and not a single issue outside of normal wear items.

Do either come with a manual? If not, Tacoma.

Colorado/Canyon > Frontier

Factoid (very relevant):
Nissan Fontiers are assembled in Canton, Mississippi.

Avoid anything assembled in Mississippi. Number Fifty funk.

The Colorado by a country mile.

They are not building as many as the Silverado...at least not yet. They are made in the same factory that builds the full sized commercial vans, which are also selling rapidly right now. They've had to add a third shift to keep dealers supplied.

You might not have but one or two options to choose from at your local dealer. Smaller dealerships may not have any Colorados.

From what I understand, GM is very pleased with the average transaction prices of those trucks and the consumer demand for them.

I own a 2013 Frontier and while I haven't put more than 15,000 miles on her, she's been good to go so far.

From a reliability standpoint, Nissan has supposedly fixed the issues that plagued the previous years. Time will tell if that is true, but then again, any car and truck purchased today has the potential to give you problems.

Colorado/Canyon are in their first year back on the market after being absent for several years, so consider it a 1st model year and expect there to be some kinks that need to get ironed out.

As far as value, I picked up my 2013 Frontier 4wd CC with 10k miles on it for $24k; couldn't find a price close to that on a Tacoma 4wd anywhere. And if the Canyons/Colorado's are selling for $35-40k new. .

Good luck
