Bald Eagle Shot in NWLA

My good friend's family has a plantation next to the property where the bird was found. He was telling me about it this weekend.
Federal agents pulled up to his house and questioned him because someone informed them that the deer stands on the adjoining property were his. I guess they have to start somewhere, but it's BS in my opinion he was questioned only because he and his son hunt property next to where this occurred.
He said after talking with the agents he called the land owner who owned the property where the bird was found and asked why he gave them his name. The landowner told him the feds #1 thing they wanted was a list of everyone he knew that hunted around him.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are seeking information on the shooting of a bald eagle that was found near Cavett River Road in Gilliam.

I would imagine that the first thing detectives do in any sort of criminal investigation is question the people that live/work/play in the nearby vicinity. Him being mad about it just makes it look like he has something to hide.

And another thing...
You know this was a tapped phone conversation...
I get the be helpful if you don't have anything to hide, but the feds mode of operation is what irks me. We used to have rights to privacy in this country.

Maybe they were getting a list of possible people who had been on the property because they might have seen or heard someone shoot. There's no reason to be upset over basic detective work
I'm not understanding why he'd get his panties in a bind over a couple of questions related to possible info about a crime. I mean, if someone killed your family, don't you think the cops would ask your neighbors if they had seen anyone odd around?
I mean, do you want them to just close the case because they didn't find someone standing over the dead bird with a rifle that matched ballistically to the bullet in the bird, and someone else had a video of it?

The truth will come out before spring break is over.
Kid will be at his buddies house, pop a top on a few too many milwaukees, turn the luke bryan down for a second and drop the mic.

I see those birds all the time in Verret and TB. Can't imagine wanting to shoot one.

I was watching one at TB while fishing a tournament & that fricker swooped down and grabbed about a 4 lb bass & lit in a tree & ate it in front of me. I wasn't catching shite ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconAngry.gif)

Near Holm Lake Bottom? With the $8,500.00 reward, they might get some info pretty quickly.
