Received the Galaxy 6 edge today

Ordered early Friday morning from T-Mobile and I received it this afternoon.
This is by far the most impressive hardware of any phone ever. The display is immaculate and puts my Nexus 6 to shame. The Camera is as advertised. Very fast auto focus and is consistent. The best camera I've seen in a smartphone. This is my first android without a Qualcomm snapdragon chip set in 4 years.
My first impressions are that its snappy as hell, the most responsive and fluid phone I've owned even more so the the Nexus 6.
Touchwiz is still Touchwiz. The reports of touchwiz being toned down are lies. Touchwiz ruins lollipop and Samsungs iteration of Material Design is tacky and unintuitive as ever. Hopefully there will be some ROM support for the 6 edge. I doubt it because of the exynos chip as opposed to the snapdragon 810.
I will need a few days to speak about battery life. Touchwiz does feel lighter as far fluidity, but there is still plenty of bloat. I got the 64Gb and 56 gbs are available to user so it still takes 8gb out of the box.

I'll know more latter once I drain it and get a full charge cycle.

I am due for an upgrade in 1week.I was going to order the S6 or the edge but I think I will wait for the S6 Active. Bigger battery is the biggest selling point for me. The micro slot, dust/waterproof is also nice. I'm nust hoping the release date is soon.

I have a work provided Samsung and the locked bootloader is an issue. It drives me crazy, especially compared to my N6. The Samsung is so locked down it isn't even worth messing with. It's a shame Samsung went in this direction. Even though the argument is there aren't enough people who care or know what a locked bootloader means to make a difference to Samsung. Idk how true that is or not but it's the argument.

Thinking about switching from the iPhone 6 to this phone from ATT to T-Mobile. Still not sure if I'll go standard S6 or the S6 edge.

I think this is important because for any company to want to dole out a particular brand of phone to its employees, all they give a shite about is security. So, in combination with the small percentage of people who root, it is a smart business decision to go with as much security as possible.
On the other hand, I will never get another samsung because of the locked bootloader haha

Build quality doesn't feel like Samsung at all. It feels more like a well built more stylish Xperia from Sony. Just all around solid and really premium device. The hardware is ridiculous. The display, Camera, processor, etc are all as advertised. The finger print scanner is really improved and now on par with Apple's. Its accurate and fast.
I installed Nova launcher and I am learning to live with touchwiz. I am not even a full day in yet, but so far I am really impressed. This is definitely a bounce back from the lackluster S5

What Samsung does with Touchwiz is just amazing. It is widely hated and even people who tolerate it think it looks childish and stupid. Yet they just keep rolling out the cartoonish design and horrible colors.

Have a Note 4 which I like a lot. So I'm back to pro-Sam for the moment. But I grew really annoyed with my S4. I could live with the dumb Samsung apps nobody uses if they'd just update the UI on the notifications/settings/dialer to look less childish.

I want to believe, but I feel absolutely violated by Samsung. I hate the S5 so much. The phone sucks so bad the only way I'll have another Samsung is if Samsung contacts me, apologizes for selling such a piece of shite product, and replace it with a much better product.

If things stay the same from the S4 and S5, only the AT&T and VZW phones will be locked down, the only two companies in the world doing this. Now if samsung does what LG did a couple years back and decides to lock all their phones regardless of the carrier, then mark me down for the Never buying a Samsung phone again club.

I feel the same way after owning the S3.
