Take it for what it's worth:

My bro-in-law's (shoulder) surgeon is allegedly good friends with one of the team doctors. He said the word was Jimmy "HAD TO GO" and Sean Payton "had no real choice". Graham allegedly went all diva this past season, "cursing out teammates, throwing shite", and confrontational "chest bumping for fights".

You're getting 4th hand information here, but when I heard this tonight at dinner, if true, makes me feel a little better about the loss.

But I will say, outside of witnessing some on-the-field Da U-style taunting classlessness seemingly after every huge gain, I've only heard positive things about Graham off the field.

Just relaying it to you guys, along with a grain of salt.

I'll buy that to a certain extent. But regardless as long as we don't get a bust with that pick then we came out of this trade better in the end.

Thanks for the info. Never know if it's true of course but it could be. Usually similar stories will come out after if this is at least somewhat true. We'll see.

I will say it wouldn't surprise me either way. The Saints soured on him for at least one of the reasons we're speculating on...prima donna, locker room, overpaid or whatever.

Heard the exact same thing from a close friend of mine who said Jimmy was still mad about not getting WR money. Jimmy also claimed he was basically forced to sign a deal with the saints last offseason.

Just playing devils advocate here, but the story we heard about the trade was that Jimmy wasn't offered until Seattle specifically asked if he was off the table, and Loomis said no. If he HAD TO GO, then wouldn't his name have been the first name out of Loomis' mouth? What we heard is that they offered two other guys before they got to Jimmy.

You may be right, just saying this story runs kinda counter to what we heard about how the trade went down.

Actually heard the same thing from a friend that works in the Saints office.

He was just angry from losing so much. I would have burned down the locker room by the 5th game

I don't post on here much. But a good friend of mine is an equipment manager on the team. He told me the exact same thing at the beginning of the season.

Not sure why or what happened though.

I think some of the issue was his attitude, but I also think a lot had to do with the national perception that he is soft. No man wants to be known as soft. I am sure he felt he had to prove himself, at least in his own locker room.

I think your story is very believable. Graham sealed his fate with the Saints when he decided he didn't have to follow the rules on the field; there's absolutely no reason to think that attitude didn't carry into the locker room.

This is the exact moment when Payton knew Graham would be wearing a different uniform:

quote:

But after he dunked the football over the crossbar of the goal post for a second time Friday night, Graham may have fueled a conflict with his head coach.

Graham and Saints coach Sean Payton appeared to engage in some tense verbal sparring on the sideline after Graham was flagged for a second 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty in the second quarter of the Saints' 31-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Friday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Graham was not in the locker room for post-game interviews.

When Payton was asked whether he was upset about Graham's penalties, he replied, "Yes, I was. I'm very upset. Would you be upset? I was, particularly."

On if he had any thoughts that the Saints might be interested in trading him: “No, not at all really. I would say about a month ago, maybe not even a month ago, I was in the city and saw Mickey (Loomis) and was talking about next season with Mickey. Even when the season ended, just talking with the coaches, talking about what we’re going to do, what we’re going to work on, so it was definitely out of left field.” link

Why would they do this if they planned on trading him? They wanted Max more than they wanted Jimmy. Simple as that. Maybe he was a prick sometimes but so is a lot of the players in that locker room.

Like Junior, before he signed that contract everyone knew he was an idiot and Keenan Lewis just showed his arse in a silly bitch fit and they still want him.

Also a lot of his teammates had good things to say about him. Not buying it.

So why wasn't he initially offered then?

Allegedly? Did you watch the games? He did this shite on the sidelines every game. Yelling in Payton's face, yelling at Brees, being an arse in general, the stupid fricking flexing thing every time he caught a pass, dunking the ball over the goal twice after he knew it would penalize the team. No doubt he did the same in practice and the locker room.

This isn't groundbreaking news. The team looked discombobulated last season. Too much bullshite going on off the field.

Like he did in 2006, Payton is cleaning house of the loud mouth fricktards and getting back to business.

interesting and probably true , I don't think he was traded because of it. I'm sure he was still pissed about the previous offseason WR/TE spat. I don't think we would have signed him if he was a locker room issue the whole time. The trade was done because SP/ML thinks it will us a better team on the field .

Seahawk fans are really laughing it up at us right now saying we basically got trade raped.

It's always fun to go on other forums and see the reactions of the other fan base. Also, we got trade raped by the Dolphins and Chiefs, per their fans.
