In other news, Saints coach Sean Payton also confirmed on his WWL radio show that CB Keenan Lewis' knee injury is not major but that he will likely have to spend some time rehabbing. Matches with the original diagnosis of an MCL injury that Lewis said on Sunday.

So lame :yack:

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was "hindered" by a big hit in Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, coach Sean Payton said Monday.

Asked if Brees might miss any time to rest the injury, Payton said it was too early to discuss.

"Today's the day after. You take a peek and see how he's feeling, coming along, and see where we're at Wednesday," Payton said. "Certainly we'll do the best thing for him and for where he's at. But I think it's early to say."

Payton said he didn't see the hit that appeared to affect Brees' arm or shoulder until reviewing film on Monday.

"The one specific hit that he took, it certainly hindered him and made it more difficult," Payton said.

Payton said he was "not worried" about Brees, but he also avoided downplaying the injury or even issuing his usual non-response or "next question."

"Certainly when he takes a shot like he took yesterday -- and I didn't see it until watching the film today -- you want to make sure he's healthy and he's upright.

"He's been throwing it outstanding. Then he takes that shot and obviously that can affect you, once you get hit like that. So we've got to be better in protection. Too many times he was getting hurried."

You're giving us too many points
Didnt we sign Byrd and Junior to huge contracts that same year though?

How did the caller find this out?
Earlier this month Kenny Vaccaro said he's listening to his doctors and he's not going to rush it

quote:

"I'm not concerned," Vaccaro said. "He'll come back and be the same old Byrd when he's healthy."

"He's coming off a knee (injury), and whatever the doctors tell him, he's going to listen," Vaccaro said.

"He's not going to rush back." Vaccaro also told reporters not to "sleep on" Rafael Bush, who is working at free safety in Byrd's absence. LINK
I think he's gonna have the same relationship with Russell like he had with Drew

quote:

"Drew taught me a lot. He was definitely like an older brother who really saw a lot in me early and dedicated a lot of time to making sure that I was everything I ever wanted to be, and everything that he envisioned. He was so critical in my growth," said Graham.

"Now I come out here, and me and Russ – it's almost like the brother who's your long-lost twin, I guess.

"I think there's no ceiling to how good this connection could be on the field and also off the field. We get along so well. He's just been awesome."
Didnt they use our draft pick to get Tyler Lockette though?

"I think I actually make 2-3 times more than he does per second ... so when he learns to read and write, he can text me."
