Crawfish prices "dropping at a record rate"

I guess the temperature, humidity, amount of water in the ponds, gas prices, groundhog seeing his shadow, etc, have all come into perfect alignment.

I guess that whole supply and demand thing does work with crawfish too.

Nope, one of the major peeling plants is shut down.

Getting three sacks in about an hour for 2.79/lb. I was expecting them to be higher. First I've had this season.

Where are they plummeting? Still over $4 today.

Just got some at Bevi for $4.29.

Got some from Bobby's last week at $4.59.

At the Publix here in Charlotte, they have whole boiled crawfish (labeled "previously frozen") for $4.99 a pound at the fish department (where the "fresh fish" is located by the butcher). Not peeled or anything. Kind of blew my mind. If I'm not buying live, they better be peeled.

The price they are paying fisherman went from $2.50 to $1.75 a lb this week.
