I love everyone going to bat for KRobs defense. He committed more errors than anyone in a platoon system at 2B last year.

Well everyone gushes over ibarra's defense and he had the worst fielding percentage of any everyday player last year.

How many chances did he have compared to the others that played the position?

Right now...

Fraley LF
Laird RF
Hale 1B
Scivicque C
Bregman SS
Foster DH
Stevenson CF
Zardon 3B
KRob 2B

That's if I had one game to win right now. Chi could always PH in a big spot vs a lefty. And people won't like me moving Bregman but im going on results putting our best D wth our best possible O. JMHO

2 things. First, For every error KRob had last year he made a play no one else on the team could make. Second, that was last year when he was just a freshman; he's made only 1 error this year and we still got an out on the play at the plate. No harm done.

Are you suggesting we ignore all of the future draftees he faced in Cape Cod where he was an all-star?

If you don't like spoilers don't read the rest of this post.

We aren't going to hit SEC pitching or good pitching at a .341 clip, but with the lineup being more experienced they're still going to produce at a high level.

Then next season we will take a step back and struggle at times.

Anyone who thinks KRob's spot at 2nd is in jeopardy hasn't been listening to Mainieri all offseason. He values defense over hitting, which is good.

The real question is what happens to Zardon if he can't get it together at 3rd? I would really like to keep his bat in the lineup.

Hale looked God awful at second against Boston College. Just remember that.

ETA: Not directed at you.

I'm suggesting stuggling to hit Princeton, Boston College and Kansas pitching means we should probably keep a close watch on a guy when it comes ot real pitching.

And what happens in the cape cod means nothing if it doesn't translate over.

That being said Deichmann to me could just as easily replace Zardon at 3B if his defense doesnt drastically improve.

Krob is like an Austin Nola or Ty Ross type player he will never be a good hitter but he will start almost everyday because of his D

And what happens in the first 3 weeks means nothing if it doesn't translate to the SEC. See what I did there?

Of course it means something. And so does cape cod and the rest of the body of work. You can't just ignore some things to justify your argument. Do we ignore his OBP? His stellar defense? What about Bregman who, until yesterday, had a lower BA than Robertson and has had just as many pop outs?

Deichmann isn't a replacement for Zardon at 3B. He was having so much trouble there they moved him to 2B this spring. He's behind Bryce and Hale in the depth chart now.

Nola was a much better hitter than he gets credit for.
Krob wishes he was Nola at the plate or in the field.

I'd have moved him farther down, like 7th ish.
I'd never take Bregman completely out of the lineup, but you got to place him bassed off of results.
