How to deal with complaining neighbor.. Update pg9

I just bought my first house in a nice neighborhood off bluebonnet. After day 2 of being here I have a note complaining about my dog excessively barking all day. I was home the entire time both days and she only barked a couple of times when the cable guy showed up. So I walk door to door to be proactive and catch the "problem" early. Find the writer of the note, and it's an old lady. Said dog bark woke her up from her nap at 3pm.....
Fast forward a week and I have a letter from hoa claiming she barks late into the night and early morning. Keep in mind she is an inside dog. I have been home every day from 6pm til 8am, and she has not barked at all unless there is a knock on the door. Other neighbors didn't even realize I had a dog until I asked if there was a barking issue.
So how can I deal with this crazy lady? I haven't even been here a month yet and i can tell she is going to be an issue.

that's tough. She's probably just lonely and looking for some attention
dick her down, win-win

Maybe she just needs a good dicking.

Every time you get a complaint throw a brick through her window. She will eventually realize every action has a reaction and stop complaining about the dog.

That's my next step. I'm gonna be out of town for a week so dog won't be there either.
I REALLLLY hope she complains while I'm out of town so I can destroy her credibility.
She also has two cats that come in my yard which is HOA violation. I can't decide if I should let my 85lb lab take care of them or if I should report it.

I'd make sure your dog doesn't bark excessively and not worry about the old lady.

Ignore her.
Crazy ladies like that are everywhere.
Just make sure that your dog isn't barking excessively.

Shouldn't be an issue for me. Cats come in my fenced in yard it's not my problem if dog defends its territory

I'd let the HOA know what's happening and fill them in on the fact that your dog stays inside all night while you're there. They might be sane enough to just dismiss her complaints next time and not even worry about bothering you. IMHO, it's best to let them deal with it because having a shitty neighbor sucks.
Mine is such a bitch, she called the city once because I left my trash can at the street for two days (because they never picked it up). Also has called the cops twice saying I parked on the sidewalk and that I was running a car shop out of my house (just working on my truck for a couple of days)

Found your problem. I'm so glad not to live under the oppressive regime of an HOA right now.

Buy a couple cans of bug spray and spell out 'frick YO NAPS' in her lawn.

When her cats come into your yard, take a photo of them to have proof. Then wait until 3pm and knock on her door and wake her arse up and show her the pictures. Then go to the HOA and complain.

I would be pissed too if you moved next to me with your annoying dog.
Most dog owners thinks that their dog "hardly barks" which means that they do bark and causes some nuisance.
Own up to your barking dog and control it.
