re: What color is this dress?

OMG NO! Don't bring another dress into the mix!

Better than 20/20 vision, never worn classes or contacts, and I'm seeing black and blue.

My wife and I have been arguing about this for 30 minutes. She swears it's white and gold.

yes but outside of this one picture, I see every color the same as anyone else. I just did a color blind test online

I switched computers and locations, and I definitely now see closer to what others are seeing. What I was seeing as white with a tinge of blue is now definitely more of a light blue color and what was gold is now a darker brown color (could be confused with black).

I'm thinking it's a matter of calibration in your monitor, ambient light, and your surroundings. It's some sort of optical illusion and people's rods and cones are perceiving things differently.

When people say you see blue do you see a dark blue color or is it really light blue?

I don't disagee with that at all except the gold looks brownish to me. Still don't see white in the dress though. As I said earlier, one just looks like it's a bad quality/phone photo of the same dress.

Just pulled up the pic on my phone and the same pic on my wife's phone. One was black and blue and the other white and gold.

I've seen both colors. The blue is a dark royal blue. I can see a brownish color to the black lace.

When I pass the pic scrolling down quickly, I see lavender & gold or brown.

You're a fricking idiot. You can't use a color picker tool for an internet photo. There are thousands and thousands of colors in any photo. Good job on trying to look smart.

I saw black and blue at first and now white and gold. If you focus on the gold at the top you will see white/gold most likely. Now block the top of the dress out with your finger and stare at the middle and bottom and tilt your phone or computer to the sides and eventually you will see black and blue. It has everything to do with angles and lighting contrast, I realized it when the same picture looked different on my laptop.
