I was involved in one (actual high speed...90mph or higher).
I was an MP in the USMC. We were helping CHP in SoCal set up roadblocks for suspected drug smugglers. I wasn't the driver that night, but my Sgt and I were helping chase down a punk between our two bases--Barstow and Yermo. CHP threw down some spike strips....that ended it. The punk did have a nice haul in his trunk, but it wasn't as much as CHP suspected.

On foot. I was high speed teenager and the fat cop was low speed

I ran in '88 from the Mandeville cops from east approach of 190 to the west approach at 100 MPH. They blockaded me at the end of the west approach. I denied running as a nice young college grad from LSU. I denied the run and played it as a simpleton. The cop then tried to recruit me for their police force and he knew I was playing it. Good times.

I was in one yesterday. I wasn't the one running.

Working in East Palo Alto in the late 80's and early 90's about 30% of all our attempted traffic stops turned into some kind of chase and most at high speeds (30 mph over the speed limit and above). Looking back on them some 20+ years later I wonder WTF were we all doing? One of the craziest pursuits I was in was actually at fairly low speeds-kid stole a bus and just wrecked havoc for about 30 minutes. Don't think he ever got that thing going more than 25 mph

I had 2 friends that were into crazy shite about 16 years ago and they were in a combined 50+ high speed pursuits with police before they finally got nailed. They said the key was to make the decision instantly, do things cops wouldn't be willing to do like go thru reds at 80 and bail out the second you are clear. I have never been in one with the cops but lots of people would chase us in high school.

I was in the middle of one a couple of years ago on Hwy 30. It's probably not the definition high-speed chase you are talking about. A car was fleeing Tanger after shoplifting being chased by a cop. They were weaving in and out of lanes, running red lights at a high speed (for hwy 30 anyway). They passed me up. About a mile later I came up on a crash between the car being chased and a truck from oncoming traffic. It was terrible - saw a dead guy just sitting in the passenger seat kind of leaning out of the window right where I had to pass. There was a thread on here that day about it, but I was in a weird mood after seeing that guy. Still haunts me sometimes.

Bunch of us guys were pissing when a truck came by and a buddy mooned them. It was an off duty cop, He gave chase (slow speed) with light, but I would not stop for a civilian looking truck until we were in a populated area.
About 4 cop cars showed, including a Trooper. They let us go with a stern talking to.
Next day I found a small bag of weed in the spare tire mounted inside the bed of the truck. One of my dumbass friends had stashed it there during the stop. Thank goodness they did not find it. Dumbass later joined the marines.

17 and riding through neighborhood throwing firecrackers out the window. Car starts coming after us. Driver runs at incredible speeds. After a couple of minutes will hear dinky siren and realized it's an unmarked cop car. Pull over and it's incredible the number of marked police cars that appear instantly with sirens and lights flashing. Guns raised, jerked out of car, searched, and thrown in the back of cop car. Cops pissed when all they find is a few firecrackers. Fingerprinted, photographed, and booked for possession of fireworks. At least I wasn't driving. My friend's dad slapped his son silly.

Ran from a traffic stop when in high school. Had an Austin-Healy 3000. Just did lots of quick turns in & out of alleys. Pulled into a random garage, pulled the door down and home free

The farmer used to chase us out of his cane fields in an old beat up pickup truck. We were usually on 4-wheelers or go carts. Does that count?

Ran from the cops at 100+ mph on a Yamaha R6 about 5 or 6 years ago. I think the cop gave up pretty quickly, but we were on Hwy. 90 heading back into Slidell so we assumed the Mississippi cop radioed the La. police - there really isn't anywhere to go for a long stretch on that road. When we got back into Slidell we tucked into a neighborhood, and my buddy laid his bike down in a turn and ended up on someone's lawn. Really ignorant - there are a string of little bridges along Hwy.90 and we were making passes where you couldn't really see oncoming traffic. After I got home, I thought, "You're a 40+ year old dentist with a wife and 3 kids at home, and you're running from the cops at 100+ to avoid a ticket? WTF???" I never rode on the street another day after that - I stuck to track days once a month and never touched my bike otherwise.

Yes, in 1988. We were on our way from metro Atlanta to PCB in my friends Mustang GT the day after school ended for the summer. We were on the 4 lane that goes through Dothan, Al and my reckless friend was doing his normal reckless 100+ mph. Cop across the median going the opposite direction hit his lights and as I turned around, I saw him turn into the median area to pursue us. My buddy crested a hill at about 115 and i was yelling for him to turn off onto a side street. We turned up the next one on the right and hauled arse up to the first building we came to, pulled in, parked and all jumped out and leaned against the car like we were just chilling. That cop car went flying past on the hwy below in hot pursuit. We waited about 10 minutes and got back on the hwy. Within a mile or so, we came into the main part of town where traffic was congested. Got to a red light and suddenly, 4 cop cars converged on us from every direction, pinning us in. Hell, one came through the grass median and nosed his front end about 3 feet from the driver side door. There were 4 cops yelling with guns drawn all around our car within 10 seconds. Of course, my buddy played dumb and told the questioning cop we had just passed through and acted all confused. Cop told him to shut his mouth. He knew it was us who was hauling arse and that we had pulled off somewhere. The only reason he was not going to jail was because we were going so GD fast that he didn't know who was driving. Told him to get his arse out of Dothan and never come speeding through there like that again.
