Reached 100k in my 401k . What's considered a good age to get there? I'm not quite 30, so I feel I'm doing okay.

Deets man. Share how you got there.

You'll be at 200k before you know it. Seems liken that 1st 100 takes forever, then the compounding starts going crazy. Grats.

Very nice. I think before 30 is pretty strong. Agree with another poster 200k will come much faster.

Oh.... it's definitely a humble brag. I'm proud of myself right now. Been at around the 90k mark for a few months and didn't feel like I'd ever get there. Company puts a 4% lump match each year and it put me over.

Good job!
Reaching $1M is a satisfying milestone also.

Is that your only retirement/investment account?

I'm 26 and nowhere near 100k in my 401k but that is not my only savings vehicle...it is only 25% of my savings, actually.
I care more about net worth than a specific vehicle that got me there.

I've got a Roth IRA with about 7k in it. I really need to get into contributing to it, I have no excuse why I don't. Wife is tinkering with the idea of going back to work and it will put us over the income threshold to contribute.
I've also got a solid amount in savings and checking right now. I'm in the oilfield with a 5 month old, a stay at home wife, and a new house. I'm keeping that in a safe spot as a safety net right now. Just made it through a round of layoffs . What a perfect time for a major move .

Backdoor Roth. You're welcome in advance.

Bad arse, man. We hit $100k after last year's contributions- I was 31, wife was 35. Pretty good feeling.

Pics or BS.
Of the wife, not the statement.
Congrats to the OP on your milestone.

Now go to the O-T Lounge sidebar and read the thread "Strangest deaths of someone you know."
Planning for the future is more than how much you have in your 401K.

That's a great question and I was wondering it myself, as having one (or two) dating back when they started the things.
