My parents just started construction last week on a home in Houston at about 350k. All 3 builders we were negotiating with asked for 10% earnest money upfront. We later talked one down to 5%. Of course your home is more than twice the cost so I can understand your predicament....
I’m ok with it if they also raise the maximum benefit accordingly, which they won’t. This is a huge tax burden on small business and upper middle class. ...

I see a lot of talk about early vote results. Remember that these are only tallies for registered party of the individual who voted - we can’t see who they are actually voting for. Remember, Trump’s Gallup approval amongst Republicans is 95%. Does anyone think the Democrats will see the same pattern...
To be fair “vote them out” is way more reasonable than “pack the court”...
95% chance it involves counting mail in ballots postmarked before Nov 3 but found afterwards 5% chance it involves Joe Biden dropping out of the race between now and Nov 3 and whether votes already cast for him will count for the replacement candidate or will not count at all. ...
