Given the NFL's history in LA, does anyone else think it would be huge mistake to move 2 teams here at the same time?
Yeah, it would be great to have a team here in LA, but forcing 2 teams in at once seems to be a recipe for both to fail.

Just get rid of divisions. Go with two sixteen teams conferences. That would eliminate the issue that arose with a sub-500 NFC South team hosting a playoff game.
You might loose some home-and-home rivalry games, but we'd get over it. Frankly, I've seen my share of Saint-Falcon games. I could use a year off, or a year off of having Falcon fans in the Dome.

What happened to the downtown L.A. proposal? I feel that was the best option...
According to my friend from LA and some google searches awhile back:
1. The stadium builders were wanting to buy part of the team(s) at a reduced price
2. It was too expensive for one team
3. The area was not set up to allow 2 teams to play there (traffic, scheduling problems, etc)
4. Legal problems from ppl suing because of the traffic

USC sold out every game for about 7 years. They slipped to 7-5(?) in 2009 and all of a sudden the Coliseum was half empty for senior day against Arizona. Wisconsin had more fans in the Rose Bowl than UCLA twice when they played in the 90s. The Clippers, Lakers, Angels and Dodgers struggle to sell tickets during down years more than almost any market. If the Raiders and Chargers move to LA, they'll play in front of half empty crowds during an 8-8 season.

I've seen several Dodger games where the outfield was half empty. I probably shouldn't have included Lakers in that group and don't follow hockey well enough to know how the Kings do.

quote:as you'll see at every single baseball game on a Wednesday night in the summer when you play 81 home games. The dodgers are the most well attended franchise in the history of professional sport in North America. The only year they have fallen out if the top 10 in total attendance in the past 10/15 years was when they were 14th in 2011. The Lakers are still top 10 attendance as they were last year. The kings where averaging sell outs as late as 2012, the year they won their first title.

wow that stadium looks like shite. Similar to layout to Levi's Stadium and Soldier Field which I both think look like shite

Imagine how many trash NFL fans would be congregated at same place if they play each other.

As a San Diegan, I do not care if the Chargers stay or leave for LA.
Tax payers should not build the stadium for the teams. Qualcomm stadium is good enough. If you do not like it, move to LA.

If there's a conference switch, Seattle needs to go back to the AFC. The MLB f*cked up two years ago by moving the Astros to the AL instead of moving the Brewers (a former AL team).

Qualcomm is a dump, probably the worst stadium in the league

Should have moved the Marlins so the Cubs could sweep them in the World Series.

Selig moved the Brewers to NL for the Cubs games. They were never going back.

I am not a fan of any of these teams so I don't really care what happens, but my general thoughts are that public money shouldn't be used to support any of these projects, and that LA should have one team.
Once the LA market gets sorted out the owners will start saying that they are moving to London if they don't get new stadiums.
