I quit 2 months ago. I've been dipping since I was 14. It freakin sucks! I would put a whole can in my mouth right now if I had it. Chewing sunflower seeds like a mofo.

Quit smoking and dipping 3 years ago and the dipping was way harder to overcome. I used the gum and the mints. The mints helped more but I was a cranky SOB for about two months. Wife understood but it really was hard as hell. Since I have quit, I feel better and gums have gotten better over time. Before I quit, my dentist told me that my gums were receding and my mouth looked like shite. It has taken 3 years for good reports on gum and overall mouth health. Obviously, it can effect everyone on a different level but I think I was probably heading down a bad path cancer wise.

1 pack every day or two and at least 3-4 cans a week. It really sucks but I would do it over again in a heartbeat.

ETA: Even 3 years later, if I smell cope long cut or any wintergreen dip, I start drooling. That shite still has me having cravings but I have gotten used to just not doing it.

Chantix is the way to go. I dipped from 16-19 and then started smoking. I quit around 30 but last 3-4 years of smoking did 2 packs a day and I absolutely loved coffee with my smokes. Had to give up coffee for about 2 months after I quit smoking. Chantix made me literally not want a smoke and I never had any side effects from it. As far as crazy dreams, I had those the times I tried quitting cold turkey also. I think the dreams are more from withdrawals than the chantix.

Was on the verge of buying Chantix after the first few weeks were really tough. But I just stuck with it and kept chewing the gum and putting 2 or 3 of those mints in every 30 minutes or so. The mints really helped a lot even though I was taking 2 extra every hour or so for the first month. The mood swings were very real.

There is no safe level of tobacco exposure - period.

Your cancer risk with snuff (or chewing tobacco) is going to vary with lots of things, including your genetic predisposition to get cancer.

Switch to gum.

And I'm dumb enough to still dip after watching him go through this

I watched smoking cigs kill my grandmother at 66 years old and it still took me 3 years to quit.

Chewing tobacco (dip) does not damage your lungs in any way but it can cause;

-Oral cancer
-Esophageal cancer
-Heart cancer
-Gum cancer
-Oral lesions

So yes, dip does increase your chance of cancer

Who knows? One guy can smoke cigars for 70 years and not get cancer, while another smokes only a pack a week and is dead at 45. Best option is to not do it at all.

I think there is a brand that is tobacco free but has nicotine. Fully loaded is the name.

Thread bumps of 1+ months old, let alone 3 years old should come up a different colored font on the main page.

Is dipping the pouches vs the real thing any less bad at all? I know they’re generally pretty close to the same

I don’t use tobacco but there was a study out recently I read where they found smokeless tobacco users had no higher incidents of oral cancer than non tobacco users.
