If Hanigriff takes over baseball after Jim leaves, I'll never again miss going to a baseball game. That way I won't have to hear his disgusting voice.

Sad. There are about 6-7 SEC play by play guys I would rather have but Hawethorne is part of virtually every memory I have of LSU sports. It's going to be weird not having him on the other end.

Hell...fricking...NO!

The guy is decent at baseball but I wouldn't trust him with Southern football and basketball, let alone LSU.

He won't be doing football and basketball

I like Hawthorne. Hannigriff blows.

Baseball I always liked listening to Lynn Rollins with Ben McDonald as color and Jumbo as the third guy.

My oh my! Holy Cow! Touchdown, Tigers! No, wait. It was intercepted. That's not good. Was it intercepted? Now they're ruling it was incomplete. Anyway, time has run out. Tigers win! Tigers win! Tigers win! Thanks for the memories, Jim. Good luck in the future.

I hope JAck Hunt is there to hand him his offical retirment gift at the final LSU football game.

Chicken, can anything be done to censure these comments. This old horse has been ridden to death. Poster can't spell either.

Anyone who says "he's fine. We're just being negative" has never relied solely on his call of any sport for info on what is actually taking place in the game. Now if I tuned in late, one thing is for sure, before they announce any score I knew if we were ahead or behind by the tone of his voice, but as far as clear, concise play by play? no chance. I would literally ask Jim as if he could hear me "How is every receiver our opponent throws to wide open?" I mean really. I will miss him though.
