re: How obvious is it that the NBA is a vastly superior product to the NFL?

Until the NBA figures out how to not have a sub .500 team in the postseason it will always be below the NF.....oh wait.....
Well I guess that means MLB rules all.

although they do last forever.

The first half really did suck. Especially the first quarter.
Nfl is propped up by the popularity and accessibility of fantasy. But as far as the actual product id agree the NBA is king.

College basketball is nowhere near as entertaining as the NBA though. I think it may be the shot clock. If it's not the Cajuns, I can't really watch with much intensity until the conference tourneys start

Say what you want about the length of the NBA regular season and playoffs, but the best team wins the championship 99% of the time.
No 9-7 Giants or 83-78 Cardinals are winning it all. No flukes outside the Nuggets knocking off the Sonics in 1994. It's a true test to see which team is best.

I think college is not entertaining because 99.5% of the players suck.

Until the NFL can control the penalties on the secondary, eff em
Illegal contact calls damn near ruined my viewing experience at times this year.

because I never want to stop watching it

It doesn't help that it feels like there are maybe 10 competent QB's in the league

The one thing it has that I like is the crowd passion and the feeling that each game is so important. Even if it's not.

quote:College basketball fricking sucks. The execution is horrendous. Hell, many successful teams use the strategy of limiting the amount of actual basketball played, as to keep scoring down. I watch more college softball games each year than I do college basketball games.

Yeah, I do enjoy that. I think I just have a thing against CBB because when I get home from work there's always some game on ESPN between two teams full of white guys who can barely grab rim.

The NBA is way way better than the NFL right now. Hell I think the MLB is better than the NFL. If it wasn't for the Super Bowl, this would be the worst NFL season in a long time.

This might sound weird, but I also enjoy the fact that there ARE so many mistakes in the college game. It makes it crazy sometimes.
It's almost such a bad product that it's good sometimes, if that makes sense.
I think the NBA and college are both very fun to watch. I just love basketball. It's a completely different game at each level, but that's fine.

Most good NBA teams get this

NBA Western Conference games have felt this way this year. Drop a few in a row and you go from top 3 to 7th.

Very obvious. I went from indifferent to NBA and die hard NFL to die hard NBA and casual fan of NFL.

meh, it's not the same.

Yes, but it's not like that every year. Or ever in the East.
