That doesn't change the fact thay can barely get 16 teams above .500, why not take it down to 12 teams, 6 in each conf? The NBA playoffs are so watered down that it doesn't get interesting till the postseason reaches it's 3rd month.

I find the NFL to be very formulaic now and quite boring. Have trouble making it through a game.

The NBA was terrible for a while but has been steadily improving over the last few years. I find you have a lot of different styles being played and some great team basketball now.

The league is thinking of taking the 16 with the best records. They're at least trying to make the game/product better and not harm it like the NFL is doing.

Will never ever happen

This tells me that you are a bit out of touch.

The 1st round last year was some of the best basketball played in recent memory and this year could be even better.

Dominque Wilkens recently commented that the game today is too laid back as far as players competing so hard against each other, his point being that they are all good friends now. No hate driven competition such as when he played. Most former players note the same. Do you honestly think that all these high light dunks would have occurred against Detroit's Bad Boys, Bird & the Celtics? And the larger numbers of teams/players has diluted the talent level, just as it has in every major league sport. But then, I am no big fan of any professional sport any more.

I prefer watching talent and skill over lumbering unathletic big men clotheslining each other all game.

Here is a newsflash: former players in every sport think the current product sucks.

Starts post with comments from Dominque Wilkins then tries to act like they didn't have highlight dunks when he played. WAT

The talent level across the board is at an all time high. It is why expanding the all star rosters is suddenly a problem now for the league.

Former player said that his era was better than the current era? Stop the presses!

But he has a point- Rivalries aren't what they used to be. Efficiency, schemes, and athleticism are also not what they used to be (as in today's era blows that era out of the water). Wonder why the old guys never talk about that?

that is golf and tennis....

there have been talks (when I say talks, it has been mentioned, nothing of substance yet) of baseball making the draft all about college kids and opening up the draft pool to lure more inner city kids with signing bonuses similar to how Dominican kids are signed....

we all have our loves, mine is baseball just figured I would state that since in many baseball threads NBA fans come in to tell us how boring it is.
