I do too but if the app will save one dogs life then it's worth it.

You can use it like garmin and see cops ahead of you. It also gives audio alerts. I have Bluetooth in my truck and it will tell me when a cop is up ahead.

Damn son. I've almost got the crown and thought I was doing something by cracking the top 2000.

I've had the damn crown once and got a new phone that waze wouldn't recognize. Got it back up to the Knight, got a new phone and the same thing happened. I'm not doing it again. I like waze, but not enough to build up my points for a third time.

damn, I have 95,000 points and thought I was doing ok....

I'm pretty sure they do that already. I've seen a cop icon go off and on several times while on I-10. I'm pretty sure it was a cop and a few drivers going back and forth. It's ridiculous honestly.
Thats interesting.
I assumed there was an anti-griefing system that would track that stuff and start to ignore submissions from the guy sending inaccurate info.

I've seen it happen a few times as I travel fairly frequently. It would make sense if the program recognized attempts to alter the data that often.

frick that. I love Waze. I use it all the time. Pretty much any time my car hits the interstate.

Departments should use technology like this. How many cops have been sought out using waze? Only two that I know of from NYPD. How many have been hit directing traffic or working an accident scene? A HELL OF A LOT MORE. It could also be a simple way for those on the street to interact with the public in a non confrontational way. The benefits to this are huge and the cost is zero. Five0 for Sheriff.

i dont get it to be honest. unless im mistaken you have to constantly check to see if there is a cop coming up.
What don't you get?
It is a gps app. I put it the address I'm going too and it gives me directions over BT while also telling me where cops are

When i drive to Tennessee I'm not going to check Waze every 5 minutes in a 5 hour trip.
So you never use GPS? You can let it run in the background and it will alert you when cops are coming over the speakers

You're too practical and intelligent for police work, time to join the private industry.

Nah. Mine says aloud, "Warning, police ahead".
Just like it says, "Warning, vehicle stopped on shoulder ahead".
Do you maybe have sound or alerts turned off?
ETA: I believe you have to be using it as GPS.. like have an end destination typed in. I use Spotify for music anyway, so my phone is already plugged in over my speakers.

Ill look into it again. I havent used it in a long time but i never saw where there was actual audio alerts. That of course does make it a lot more helpful.

I love the accident reporting and traffic congestion color scheme.
But the cop feature is GOAT.
If it stops people from speeding, doesn't that mean its making roads safer? Shouldn't the intention of speed traps be a deterrent for speeders? So this is helping the cops.
(yes I know that isn't the REAL reason for speed traps)

I know I hear the voice and immediately start slowing down, and then it is just a stupid vehicle stopped on the side of the road.
