EDIT: Possible MM Spoilers within.
I have to be honest, Draper is a great choice. I've never watched a show like Mad Men where my emotional investment in the main character can go from one extreme to the other so many times and so quickly.
First couple of seasons, in reality, Don is a dog that drinks too much, cheats on his wife, neglects his kids, etc. But you wanted him to win. Everytime he sat down at the table and gave you his brilliance, you cheered for him. I was actually mad, furious at Betty when she discovered his double life. Heres a wife that figured out the man she married is not the man she married, but I'm pissed at her for digging thru Dons personal life. Thats brilliant. Season 5, we love Don for turning the corner, showing compassion to Peggy, trying to stop Joan from allowing the other partners to whore her out, then gracefully covering for Lane after his suicide. But there at the end, at the bar, Don goes back to being Don.
I don't know if its Hamms acting or Wieners writing that gives such depth to the character, but damn it is wonderful.

If y'all haven't given Hannibal a try, you really should. These two especially kill it:

Really good one. Just got really stupid and unbelievable at the end of the series.
Making dinner in your shower, come on.

Theodore Twombly, so underrated.
Also, Don Keefer.
Neither are the "best I've seen", but just to avoid redundancy and give them honorable mentions.

There has been some good ones mentioned, I have to add my favorite:
Augustus McRae - Lonesome Dove
The perfect man with all of his likeable imperfections!

Going back a little but All In the Family. Both Archie and Edith were spot on great.
There has been a ton of great roles played almost to perfection.

I really wish Anakin Skywalker had been played by a better actor, because he would've been the correct answer.

Kosmo Kramer is up there for me. Perfect casting for that part IMO.
