I so hate that as well. I usually see it coming and push their bag away from me before it hits me.

People still shouldn't be rushing on SW though right? You still get your group before, while it is open seating it is not like all 140 people are in a mad dash to get a seat.
And most SW check in people will tell someone if they are out of order which I like.
Also people flying SW for the first time is a shite show sometimes, they just can't comprehend they don't have a seat number. I've seen many people looking for seat B31 hahaha.

Everyone considers everyone else to be a slow-arse so they all try to beat each other to be the first slow-arse so no one else will be in their way.
I don't know about other airlines but JetBlue loads passengers back-to-front by sections (ie: rows 20-15, then rows 14-10, etc). If I'm not boarding with the crew and not worried about catching a connecting flight, I like to get a seat in the back. You get on early when there's plenty of bin space and then you can take your time getting ready to leave while everyone else is spazzing out. I can usually get a few text messages, a round of Words With Friends and even a phone call done while everyone else is all up in each others' way.

Definitely overhead bins. If it's a large flight usually not a problem, but smaller planes have really small bins especially delta.

Pay the $12 for the early bird boarding on SW.
I always book business select on SW. My last trip, I get on with A-1. I like the left handed aisle seat in the first row. Guy is in the window seat, about my size (I'm OT fat, but fit in a fricking seat, have a long piece of seatbelt left over, and could lose 20lbs). As the plane is filling up, a real fat guy gets on. As soon as I saw he had no bag, I was like "oh frick." Dude wedges himself in between us, then proceeded to talk the entire flight about Christian bullshite.
Same trip, different flight, I somehow end up in the 4th rows, aisle seat. A nice older lady was at the window. Some dumb frick gets on, and sits in between us as the attendant is announcing the plane is not full, plenty of non-middle seats, etc.
In both situations, I just made myself solid and refused to give up the armrest/space. But you gotta wonder, why the frick would someone choose a middle seat like that when there are empty aisle and window seats?

I like to board early to be able to lock in my son's car seat and have everything placed strategically. I know to grab a seat belt extender right away and my son sits on my seat while I strap his in. The plane has never waited on us. I also wait to be the last off with him, so his short legs don't hold people up. I usually book 1-1.5 connections to take my time.

There are generally two types of people who fly.
People who fly all the time and people who never fly. So they inexperienced ones are always pissing us off.

Some people aren't very nice to the chivalrous among us.
I also get stank eye when carrying my bag and my fiancée's. I think everyone thinks I'm cheating or something. I promise the red designer looking bag isn't mine.
I pride myself on my efficiency however so they can suck a bag of dicks

The same people will line up for that B-15 slot about 1.5 hours before the flight.
In fact, an even better question is - why do people rush to stand in line, when every airline either has assigned seating and boards by row, or has the SW process? No one is really rushing to be first, they're just rushing to get in line. It's cray

Having to gate check a carry on is usually music to my ears. You mean I don't have carry this shite through the airport for my connecting flight? Sign me up.

This. I fly delta for work mainly and they never have enough overhead space.
If I'm sharing a rental with coworkers or my boss, I don't want to be the lame arse holding everyone up from eating/getting to the hotel because I need to stand around in baggage claims for half an hour.

We always have our kid, so it's easier to get settled, get the stroller gate checked... And we get to piss off all those "elites" by boarding first in front of them

I don't fly enough. It's Canadian Bacon, Ham, Sausage, and then Bacon medallion levels
