No one is writing him off. You are dense.

It was a bad hire because he doesn't have the credentials to be DC at LSU.

He doesn't have the resume to be a DC for most Power 5 conference teams.

Look at his record as a whole! This is a total crap shoot! He may do great things, but more than likely he will fail! Check his resume!

I think we are just basing out opinion on the 35 years of snaps.

Make up your mind. Does the guy have a 35-year record or has he yet to coach a single snap?

Spoiler alert: A 35-year record gives even the densest of individuals a pretty clear idea about the guy.

You hire the resume. If you're an elite power 5 school in the best conference in college with a talent rich state like LA, you hire the best resume you can get,

This is like the President appointing some backwoods small town, ricky dink, 75 year old justice of the peace to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. Unfortunately, there's no governing body to deny a shitty hire like Steele.

His frickin' defense gave up 70 points in a BCS bowl!

I'm in agreement with you on this one. Just because he's sucked the past 35 years doesn't necessarily mean he'll suck in year 36.

Right. We should just write off past performance and cross our fingers.

Why not? Plenty of people wrote off Miles because of the headset her wore in his first game.

The decision followed one of the program's worst defensive performances, as Clemson suffered an embarrassing 70-33 loss to West Virginia in the Discover Orange Bowl. The 70 points were the most points scored by a team in any bowl game.

Past is prologue. The best bet is this guy is a failure again.
