I'm not a lawyer or a criminal but I've been inside...

Caddo
Bossier
Red River
De Soto
Webster
Claiborne
Bienville
Lincoln
Union
Nachitoches
Rapides
Vernon
Allen
Beauregard
Evangeline
Avoyelles
Catahoula
Concordia
Franklin &
East Baton Rouge <--- That one actually was for allegedly being a criminal.

Which was the nicest and which was the shittiest?

In my opinion. The nicest has to be the new one built in Bienville Parish or Bossier Parish. The shittiest is a toss up between Red River Parish and Catahoula Parish. I'd have to give the nod to Red River being the worst. The Native American artifact collection in Catahoula Parish Courthouse is it's only redeeming feature.

That said, I have not been to them all...

Which ones have you visited?

ETA: This may help...

No law abiding non-lawyer would be in that many courthouses.

The Alexandria courthouse uses trustees as elevator operators.

On my way right now to the Red River courthouse.

I have filed lawsuits in every district and parish court in the state and probably every city court as well. I have physically appeared in the following district courts:
Caddo
Bossier
Webster
Union
Red River
Concordia
Avoyelles
Lafayette
Pointe Coupee
EBR
Livingston
Tangipahoa
Ascension
Assumption
Iberville
WBR
St. James
St. John
St. Charles
Lafourche
Terrebonne
Washington
St. Tammany
Orleans
Jefferson
St. Bernard
Vernon

The nicest courthouses are probably Bossier and Jefferson because they are newer and the worst would be Concordia and Lafourche.
Personally, I like the old courthouses in Caddo and Assumption and others that have renovated instead of building new. Although Red River was run down, I liked the old building.

Tough question.

Jefferson Parish's new courthouse is great.

I've been in all the courthouses from Rapides and north of there. I've been in a small handful south of Rapides.

Tensas Parish courthouse is pretty bad.

As bad as some of the old courthouses are, it is still pretty cool to hear their history. It always amazes me how small folks must have been in the early 1900's because I swear you almost have to turn sideways in some of the urinal stalls just to piss.

Bossier (new)
Webster
Red River
DeSoto
Natchitoches
Winn
Grant
Franklin
Vernon (old)
Rapides
Beauregard
Allen
Calcasieu
St. Landry
Iberia
Iberville
EBR (old)
Livingston (old)
Washingston
St. Tammany (new)
Jefferson (new)
Orleans

Nicest would probably be the new Bossier or Jefferson. Inside is very nice in both of these.

For worst I could probably select any of about 3 or 4, but I'll go with Franklin, Livingston, and Washington.

Beauregard probably looks the coolest from an architectural standpoint, and being adjacent to the old gothic jail is a nice touch as well. Definitely my favorite from the outside.

Maybe others but I'm not sure. I don't have business in court houses often and don't really make the effort to remembering the different ones I've walked int over my lifetime.
