I've always liked & admired Chief but this, coupled with the manner he left (according to player's comments) smack of sour grapes and a feeble attempt at polishing the tarnish from his image to me. Not many (fans OR staff) have been happy with our offensive output but as an excuse for all that's happened is just not ringing true. I think it was the combination of money & contractual wording that did it - IMO, Chief demanded both the extra money offered byTA&M and removal of the clause he found offensive removed. It was declined, his pride was hurt and he moved on rather than swallowing hard and accepting the offer on the table. I think he's feeling bitter, has lost a good deal of the attributes many bestowed on his character and is doing what a spurned woman would do - deflect blame & inflict damage however possible. Wouldn't be surprised if it's not more to come.

Can't really blame him for leaving if this is the truth. Think of the number of seasons that Chavis defense carried LSU to wins.

and lost games that lost shots at championships.

Maybe I'm not recaliling this correctly, but I thought Les' offenses at OSU were pretty productive. If so, what happened?

The defense lost a lot less games than the lack of offense did.

What recruiting expertise did Chavis bring to the table? I understood he did very little.

Using a QB that was already significantly developed at JUCO and Georgia. Pre-packaged two year rental.

JUCO coaches and all those weeks at UGA, no doubt that's what made Mett great for the better part of a season and a third of another.

Our D has been consistently better than the O. Did we lose a few games late - sure. Name one defense that hasn't given up a few leads. Even the mighty Saban fails from time to time. I could certainly understand Chavis feeling like he was on te outside with Les and Cam.

Both years Chavis blew late leads vs Bama.

Both years after that game, our season are meaningless.

Both years if Chavis holds the leads, LSU makes the NC or playoff.

Chavis can suck on that.

compared to other SEC squads during chavis years:

LSU best years on O <<<< LSU worst years on D

you can suck on that, pretend it's miles' peen

Mr. I'm a man. I'm 40. Gundy was the OC.

I remember reading an article where Gundy and the OC for mizzou that coached here les' first year commented in stating that in staff meetings les did not really like certain plays without a FB or TE on the field at the same time. He wanted to run what he's running here.

But Gundy had the backing of T. Boone Pickens, which is a really big deal at that school. So les didn't really get into pissing matches over it.so they ran a more pro style shotgun type spread offense.

Josh fields at QB
Rashaun Woods at WR
Tatum bell at RB

They were explosive. I thought that would carry over to LSU. That was until we found out about Gundy being a pretty damn good OC.

I really don't think that Chavis will be a good fit for A&M and it's style of offense!! It's a fast paced offense and Chavis defense really struggles when on the field a whole bunch! Maybe that's all defenses but Oregons didn't look too bad the other night?? But they have a decent run game too.

so, what this article would have you believe, is that Chavis pursued a job at South Carolina and NO ONE COVERING EITHER SCHOOL KNEW ABOUT IT, South Carolina chose NOT to hire him, LSU allowed Chavis to coach the bowl game knowing that Chavis future at LSU was HIGHLY SUSPECT, and that A&M paid Chavis nearly $400k more than he was making AFTER Chavis approached THEM for a job, just for shits & giggs.

that makes literally zero fricking sense and is a way for Chavis to deflect blame for his unseemly departure back at Miles.

Our defense was the reason we didn't lose way more than the Bama game each year.

And the defense was the reason we didn't get blown the frick out like the year before Chavis got there.

So no. Suck on that Chavis dong.

But the Arkansas game that cost us the sugar bowl. Again with seconds left at half and end of game. So you guys are saying Les is responsible for that? That was a shite show by the defense. Chavis shouldn't be relinquished of Blame if he is being given credit.

LSU scored 9 points in the second half. 2 of the field goals came about because LSU started the drive in arkansas territory, once at the 9 yard line!

You miserable pumpers are ridiculous with how much you let the offense off the hook.
