The sources said the contract negotiations, the Aggies offered $340,000 more annually, were a non-issue in his decision to leave LSU and that Chavis simply felt it was time to go.

i agree but the ones that it did lose stand out due to the implications.... its the nature of the game.

Chavis also realized that Les's days are numbered at LSU. Thus the big deal over guaranteed $.

Yet if we had anything that resembled a competent offense those last minute drives would have been moot.
Should a school as elite as LSU not be able expect one of the highest paid DC's to hold a lead with under 2 minutes left? Chavis's "signature defense" cost us 4 games over the last two years at least, and he was completely inept against Auburn and State this year as well.
But apparently we should build this guy a statue and allow him to tak shite about our program after leaving like the money grubbing whore that he is. Loyal my arse.

UGA - 44
LSU - 41
Thanks a lot Chavis
LSU - 41
Thanks a lot Chavis

Miles' stubbornness is out of control. Talent everywhere, great coaches, 100K fans, millions of dollars, and LSU can't complete a forward pass anymore.
Les' stubbornness will be the end of him. Chavis sees it. The fans see it.

Not only can Cam not develop a QB but he and Les can't even recognize a quality QB if it is true that QB Prescott of Miss State wanted to come to LSU as a QB but was told he would be used in defensive secondary

can't wait to the next defensive coordinator blows leads to see if he gets blamed also for the offenses ineptitude
Are you really going to act like Chavis shouldn't be blamed for his failures at all? A top paid DC should be able to close out a game where his defense only needs to hold for under two minutes.

I guess the entire country can't recognize a QB then. The whole country missed on Dak.

2011
We had one game where we won by less than double digits that year.
One.
One.
But, you are right. 1/9 was a shite show. Lee would not have done better though. Bama was on a mission that night and LSU was not into the game as much.
Including the defense.

This year no

Chavis pursued a job at South Carolina and NO ONE COVERING EITHER SCHOOL KNEW ABOUT IT
No, YOU didn't know about it. That doesn't mean that agent and school were entertaining the scenario.

LSU allowed Chavis to coach the bowl game knowing that Chavis future at LSU was HIGHLY SUSPECT
Because he's been great and were hoping he would still sign the contract. Completely plausible and logical.

that makes literally zero fricking sense
It makes perfect sense. You're thinking needs a tune-up.

Get the frick out. Chavis cost us the Bama game. Chavis allowed MSU to do whatever the hell they wanted until Mullen stopped trying. Abutted carved his D up like a thanksgiving turkey. Defense cost us the Notre Dame game. Chavis was shite for half this year. That's on him.

Chavis should be blamed for his defense setting up our offense 1st and goal at the 5 with about 3 minutes left? Damn Chavis should have told the defense forcing a fumble wasn't good enough they should have scored.

There is very little truth to the DB story from what I understand. This comes from a cousin of his. We just offered him too late. He was already committed to MSU.
We also had Stephen Rivers and Mett in that class. tRant would have melted like a Nazi looking into the ark if we'd passed on them for him.

In close games sometimes the team that scores last wins.
To point to a handful of games and ignore where his defenses ranked nationally and within conference is what is short sighted. Especially while ignoring that the offense has been on the other end of the spectrum.
He wasn't perfect but he was pretty solid. Y'all are pumping some delusional shite this last week.
