I was wondering that when Alleva refused to match Texas A&M could TAF have stepped in and saved this disaster from happening.

Chavis was the program, considering that we have a virtually non-existent offense. Without the tiger defense, I think we are 3-9 this year and 0-8 in the SEC.

No Chavis, no Coach Miles, and we could easily end up with someone worse.

Remember the Archer-Hallman-Dinardo years. Remember Stovall before that. This job had chewed up a lot of people before. Les Miles has held this program together. Believe me it is not easy.

Do you trust Alleva, after the Chavis debacle to hire the next head football coach at LSU?

Alleva don't do shite with the football program without TAF's say-so.

LSU Defense has been good since 2000 during Saban and early Miles career without Chavis

Chavis had great players and did good. Lost games also with Chavis and his prevent defense was suspect.

We will get a good DC, more worried about the QB for next year.

Chavis was being unreasonable with his contract demands. Joe told him and his agent to fck off.
I'm sure he checked with the big boosters before saying that though.

Maybe they didn't because they agreed with him on this one?

I am a donor and I can tell you that TAF literally has no influence on decision making when it comes to hiring coaches. Like in everything in the real world a few extremely large donors "and we are talking a very few and very large donors" do have influence and obviously have input but you need to be a "T. Boone Pickens" type to actually help make decisions in a program. The TAF does not do that and in all reality it would be a cluster frick if the TAF could influence those types of decisions. The University hires individuals that make those tough decisions we have to have faith in those individuals to make the right decisions. Just like anywhere else their work is graded and if they make bad hires they go too, just like in Michigan this past year.

This is going to be Les' s decision he will go to Joe with who he wants and Joe with decide to pay what is needed to be paid. If he doesn't want to pay what it takes to get the candidate than that candidate won't be hired. So Les has to convince Joe that he needs this candidate and LSU needs to pay the man to get the man.

TAF doesn't have the kind of influence you are talking about.

Heavy hitters in TAF are in control, not Alleva who has less power than Miles or any other LSU head football coach.

Remember Stovall before that.

this is why posters should take nothing you type seriously

Remember that our real coach was killed in a plane crash? Remember that Stovall and Archer and Arnsparger were hired with ZERO head coaching experience? Dinardo was hired with a losing coaching resume (and yet posted 2 and 3 loss seasons)

That will never happen again

The 90s will never happen again
