Stormfront, the white supremacist website that the OT has been tracking to get information about the 19yo MS girl that was burned to death are the ones putting out the info of Steve attending one of their conferences back when he was a State Rep.
Oh and the setting is the Best Western Landmark hotel right off of I10 in Metairie

quote:
On the weekend of May 17th-18th, 2002, Steve Scalise was a 36-year-old Louisiana State Representative. Six years later, he’d become a United States Congressman. Six years after that, after only three terms, Steve Scalise would become the House Majority Whip, arguably the third most powerful and influential member of the United States House of Representatives.
But on that weekend in May, Scalise was reportedly armed with a microphone at the Landmark Best Western in Metairie and talking about tax policy to an international convention… of white supremacists and neo-Nazis. According to a commenter who used the name “Alsace Hebert,” Steve Scalise was a highlight of the convention.
Quoting:
"EURO’s recent national convention held in the greater New Orleans area was a convergence of ideas represented by Americans from diverse geographical regions like California, Texas, New Jersey and the Carolina’s. This indicates that concerns held are pervasive in every sovereign state and Republic alike, within an increasingly diminishing view of where America stands on individual liberty for whites."
"In addition to plans to implement tactical strategies that were discussed, the meeting was productive locally as State Representative, Steve Scalise, discussed ways to oversee gross mismanagement of tax revenue or “slush funds” that have little or no accountability."
"Representative Scalise brought into sharp focus the dire circumstances pervasive in many important, under-funded needs of the community at the expense of graft within the Housing and Urban Development Fund, an apparent give-away to a selective group based on race."

Do white supremacists not pay taxes? If not, I may have to give this some thought...

CenLamar (Lamar White) is as good a blog for hard-hitting news as Democrat Underground message boards.
In fact, not sure why Rex isn't citing that source lately.

If true, why are we first hearing of this now, 12 years and numerous elections later? Sounds fishy.

Obama attended a racist church for 20 years.

IMO, this is much ado about nothing, unless Scalise has a pattern of cavorting with White supremacists, or if he personally met with David Duke. The guilt-by-association smear tactics, that both Republicans (Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, etc.) and Democrats (Bob Jones, John Hagee, Rod Parsely, etc.) engage in is silly and counter-productive. I'll bet there are very few people in Congress who haven't crossed paths with some reprehensible characters in their political careers, because being successful in politics inevitably forces politicians to suck to people they despise, but you should be able to get a good idea of what a person stands for based on their own words and writings.
Oddly enough, Congressman Peter King has literally cavorted with some of the most notorious terrorists of the 20th century while they were still engaging in terrorism, but neither the MSM nor Democrats have ever gone after him. Why is that?

Honestly, who gives a shite.
If you're keynote speaker to talk about the downfall of the white race, that's one thing. Speaking about tax policy to a group of racists doesn't bother me at all.
As long as we still have the Congressional Black Caucus, some white guy appearing by video feed to talk about tax reform to a group of people who happen to be racist will not set off my outrage alarm.

I mean, is any part of this not true?

Anyone that thinks this story has legs with even a remote chance of taking off is simply delusional and high on wishful thinking no matter how much the drama queens and over reactionaries play on this "story".
This "story" is dead on arrival.
